Will this mall be Revived? Eastridge Mall | Gastonia North Carolina 2025

Come Walkthrough with me as I tour this mall that was built in 1976. Eastridge shopping mall located in Gastonia, North Carolina, and is 19 miles west of uptown Charlotte, North Carolina.
Eastridge has lost the majority of its national retailers. What was once a three-story building packed with storefronts and foot traffic, now has more boarded-up entrances than opened ones.
It has seen better days, it will be interesting to see if they renovate again and revive this mall or if it will be totally abandoned?

I have great memories of this mall. There used to be a movie theater on the third floor in the 90s.

This makes me so sad! In the 90’s my mom would drop me off at this mall on Fridays and Saturdays and I’d walk around with my friends and have the best time. We were in our early teens and would shop a little but mainly hang out in the food court on the 3rd floor. We got to know a lot of the people that worked there and at 15 years old I got my very 1st job at the Fruit Tree on the 3rd floor and over the years worked in a couple of the stores and even worked with Santa and the Easter Bunny in the center of the mall. It was constantly filled with people back then and there were no vacant stores. We even had a movie theater in there. I have so many good memories but have to admit I haven’t stepped a foot in the mall in over 2 years and I still live in the area. I would love for the mall to somehow make a comeback and be even half of what it was when I was young. It’s extremely rare to run across a video on KZbin that was filmed in Gastonia, thank you for posting this!

I was there today. Truly pathetic and a shell of its former self. It reminded me of the mall in ‘Dawn of the Dead’.
