Welcome back to Cities Skylines 2 and our ongoing project in New Walk City, the ultimate pedestrian-only city. In this episode, we continue to face challenges and make improvements in our unique city where cars are banned. Join us as we strive to balance residential and commercial needs while ensuring that our residents can live car-free.
Today, we tackle the issue of abandoned buildings in New Walk City. Despite the abundance of entertainment and close proximity to schools, some residents are moving out. We explore the possible causes and take steps to address this problem, ensuring our pedestrian-only city remains vibrant and thriving.
As we expand New Walk City, we focus on increasing high-density residential zones to support our commercial areas. We rezone low-density structures and introduce new parks and amenities to attract more residents. Our goal is to create a bustling urban environment without the need for cars, promoting a sustainable and walkable city.
We also experiment with new infrastructure projects, such as extending our train lines to connect with external connections. This could potentially bring more residents and visitors to New Walk City without compromising our pedestrian-only policy. Watch as we navigate the challenges of integrating these new systems into our existing layout.
In this episode, we also address the issue of insufficient customers for our businesses. By increasing high-density residential zones and enhancing public amenities, we aim to boost the local economy and support our commercial enterprises. Discover our strategies for balancing residential and commercial needs in a car-free city.
Our focus on education continues as we introduce new schools and universities to New Walk City. By improving access to education, we hope to increase the availability of high-skilled labor, which is essential for the growth and prosperity of our city. See how these educational institutions integrate into our pedestrian-only landscape.
The health and well-being of our residents are paramount. We establish new medical facilities and a disease control center to ensure that everyone in New Walk City has access to reliable healthcare. Learn how we maintain the health of our citizens in a densely populated, car-free environment.
Environmental sustainability is a key priority in New Walk City. We introduce new recycling centers and waste management systems to handle the needs of our growing population. Discover how we manage pollution and keep our city clean without relying on cars.
Our commitment to a pedestrian-only city means constantly monitoring for unauthorized vehicles. In this episode, we uncover a potential issue with cars being brought in via train connections. Watch as we take swift action to address this problem and maintain the integrity of New Walk City's car-free policy.
As we continue to develop New Walk City, we face the challenge of balancing population growth with infrastructure capacity. Join us as we expand our residential areas, enhance public transportation, and create new recreational spaces to support a growing population. See our strategies for managing urban growth without cars.
