My theory is that the reason why we see so many death claw bodies near new vegas is because of their fight for survival against the tunnelers. Remember the tunnelers are incrediblely strong and numerous so much so that Deathclaws struggle against tunneler packs.

Plausible theory. Would be interesting to see Hank pull up on an empty New Vegas cause as Ulysses states; that the tunnelers (many years after lonesome road) would eventually burrow their way into New Vegas territory. Would love to see that come into fruition.

Makes sense. Tunnelers basically travel in packs underground. Kill one, and many more take it's place. So I can see a deathclaw getting overwhelmed by something like that.

I’m just glad they are indeed going with the FO4 and on deathclaws, I know the 3/NV deathclaws were scary but their design always looks more like a tip-toeing demon than a post atomic monster. The first time that deathclaw popped out of the sewer cover in Concord and started snaking back and forth to dodge bullets made my bunghole pucker so tight I thought that mfr was out for me personally and the sole survivor was just in the way.

Translation typically you don't actually screw with death claws until you level up a bit first with the exception of the goul I don't think any main character is ready in season one definitely hyped for season two

The deathclaw skull was in the desert road to Vegas that was infested by them, near the quarry. That Deathclaw was probably killed by the Courier himself.

It does make sense we didn't meet any supermutants or death claws in the series. Most of the show takes place in former NCR territory. One of the safest, strongest and most stable post war civilizations. It they would have exterminated all the most threatening monsters as best they could.

Kinda strange we didn't see any this season. According to part of the lore, deathclaws originated in the western US. Which includes California. Which is where the show takes place. I get not seeing intelligent ones. The Enclave killed them off many years prior. But why not regular ones?

Most beginning quests have you pass through low level areas. That Gulper was probably the first story boss they encountered. And from what I remember, the Mojave was lousy with Deathclaws

You also don't want to shoot your bolt early when amazon demands high returns. One or two iconic creatures or factions per season would give them years of opponents

You could think about it as progressing through the story. Since it the mojave, you wouldn't see deathclaws till you progress and level up enough to take one on. Supermutants are similar that way, but i dont remember ever seeing them in New Vegas

I was actually happy with the lack of Super mutants. Because there wouldn't be many in California after the events of 1 & 2. And especially if there's a heavy brotherhood presence now the surviving mutants would have even less reason to stay in the area.

I hope they give it as much room to breathe as they can. Throw in some nods to the games to keep it interesting but don't rely on that to tell a good story. It's a tricky balance but they absolutely nailed it in season 1 and I can't wait to see what comes next.

The lack of super mutants is because there's no way for them to be made. Almost all the fev has been destroyed or taken by enclave and promptly destroyed. The east coast is different because there's a lot more fev facilities like 87 (I'm pretty sure) the vim factory. And whatever the Boston mutants came from

I think they also catered to the idea that the same mutants being in every region got too boring and wanted to save the deathclaw and Super Mutant cameos in the region of the Obsidian/Black Isle games

To be honest besides the ghoul i dont think any of our main characters are ready for super mutants or death claws which is why i was glad they didnt put them in season 1. The yao was cool, even my grilfriend said what the heck did they do to that bear lol she also kept asking what is wrong with maximus. I said he has the idiot savant perk.

I like that the creators didn't cram everything into the first season. It would have been far too distracting and take away what was ultimately a good beginning plot. It leaves us long time fans with something to really look forward too in upcoming seasons!
