Making sure you maintain rhythm in the follow-through is the most important aspect of shooting. If I was teaching someone I'd make them focus on what it should FEEL like more than what it looks like. You can tell when if feels right because it looks fluid/there's an ease to it.

The NBA changed the rules on off-ball fouls to reduce Hack-a-Wilt decades before Hack-a-Shaq.
@gandydancer6377 жыл бұрын
... a little more info: They used to shoot 1-shot fouls, but the 2nd foul in the last 2 minutes was automatically a 2-shot foul. (You'sd also go "in the penalty" after the 5th(?) defensive foul in a quarter.) So teams would "use up" any extra 1-shot fouls as the 2-min mark approached by grabbing an offensive player. The NBA made such fouls, if off-ball, 2-shot fouls so other teams wouldn't just grab Wilt.

Coach - The biggest reason he is missing is his leg drive is discontinuous with his release. He pumps his legs, but all that momentum is gone when he initiates his release. Simple fix. Initiate leg drive later. The next biggest reason is he is arching his back backwards and babying the ball.

Fultz's real FT form from college, not whatever this new thing is(injury), is fine. His issue is moving his feet. You can see that he isn't lined up properly by his release on his misses. His mind tries to correct and he pushes with his off hand. Hence the left to right misses. Don't move your feet and don't lean back. Follow through. Easy fix.

Why the hell would Philly take him at #1 if he hasn't figured out his free throws. What's worst is he's a point guard so you could foul him near the 3pt line and not have to worry about him getting an And 1 like shaq or Howard would do because they were centres that played near the rim. This FT issue with Fultz will prevent him from becoming a dependable star for the Philly
@Ilovelamp-bk7gb7 жыл бұрын
PlanetofMarz because you can improve your FTs with time. It was the one real knock on his game

Ilovelamp 2345 actually if you watch the video it points out that bad free throw shooters percentage consistently stays the same. Howard, DJordan, Shaq and those guys are centers now image having a point guard that always has the ball avoid getting fouled in late game situations. Terrible draft pick.

I don't think we will see Hack a Fultz. his free throw shooting is bad, but as someone else mentioned his 65% clip translates to 1.3 PPP. that would a historically elite offense if it could be sustained. What I do think you will see is that when Fultz has a attempts at the rim he is going to fouled. He is going to get fouled hard and consistently. Teams are going to try to make Fultz scared to attack the rim and also make him earn his points at the stripe when he tries to drive.
