Rosie,one thing we're loosing is communicating with each other, remember sitting on the porch with family and friends just telling stories and most of all listening to our elders. Today we have lost true communication skills and absorbing what we here, this phone isn't really what we need but unfortunately it's becoming our means of communicating,face to face is alot better for all of us! These topics are important, and you have such a brilliant, philosophical, and spiritual background that you explain them so well. I agree with all that you've said. What comes to mind are corrupt politicians, brutality at our country's capital, vigilantism on our own streets, drug and violence riddled thugs doing whatever they please, etc. So many of us throw up our hands and wonder what's happening today. You're an excellent speaker; I applaud you for bringing these topics up. I love how you think. One last thought is the saying that I think was from a Michael Jackson song about "Be the change you want to see in the world today!" Everyone must do their part. Thanks for everything you do; you're a brilliant mind and an awesome person.

We are given a conscience. “ Let your conscience be your guide.” I was only around 4 years old & I recall knowing in my heart that it was terrible that water fountains had “ whites only “ signs & the back of buses was reserved for “ blacks only “. I was not taught that this was unfair. However, my gut told me how terrible this was to be separated by color was wrong. No one told me that, but I listened to my gut. God gives us a conscience and we must listen and “ Let your conscience be your guide.” Weak people follow others. We must think for ourselves & teach our children to do the same. There are some evil people, even some priests, who have caused corruption. So, always follow your own conscience, which was given by our Creator. If something feels wrong, it usually is wrong.

Well said Rosie, It starts with parents and schools. The past couple of generations have been let down and led astray. The parenting is only going to get worse. but there may be hope for the schools.

I grew up with traditions celebrating family community etc... The lack or loss of traditions of which there are many - are now almost dishonored - And many are taking drugs for depression anxiety and so forth - so sad,, because we all experience these feelings from time to time and it helps us to work thru our problems - understanding some have had terrible tragedies and need a medication - it just seems now everyone wants a quick fix - maybe some time in prayer with our creator is the answer ~~~ Take Care

Sometimes I wonder if all of the stimuli primarily people’s addiction to phones has a bigger impact in terms of disrupting society, connections with family and others, movement away from faith. I think the constant media input is having a tremendously negative impact on society.

Good evening Rosie and all.. Will western civilization survive? It depends if the world survives…I could type for hours about this, but we are running on fumes.. The deficit, greed, foreign policy, political unrest, rogue governments, all of it.. We have become extremely complacent in America, for generations, we watch from afar all that plays out, and we remain relatively unaffected.. We are at a serious tipping point right now… The government alignments happening as I speak, should be enough to worry us all…Things are not good.. We are harvesting the rotten fruit from policies past.. It is extremely difficult for me to be optimistic, when I am realistic..😔

I do see the decline especially in certain aspects of the medical community, housing and education. In the past it was easier to become self-sufficient in this country. Little meant more. Civilization will grow but with a lot of effort.

i was thinking about your selfish series a little every day since it started - what i noticed is its more common these days to receive a Christmas card that resembles more of an advertisement or newsletter or branding of your friend or even the whole family - the focus is no longer on Christ being born but of my vaction, my baby, my new job promotion
