@@AGplays13 you’re right but Microsoft also supports MnK in the “flagship” halo series day 1 and gears 5 and tactics, all of the age of empire games, Minecraft, stalker 2, and many other fps, RPGs, and strategy games

Been playing WoW since Vanilla with ZERO add-ons. They truly aren't needed

@hvdiv17 Not at all, My father used them I know for a better map and quest tracking but I never liked them. I preferred the way they game was without all that. Reminded me of Morrowind or Daggerfall. Didn't need them in raiding either since I was mainly dps or Tank, just learn the raids and how they work.

I'm unsure how they would handle add-ons for Xbox players, if at all. However, it would be beneficial to have full keyboard and mouse support, giving players an alternative if they choose not to use a controller. This would give players the ability to play WoW who currently may not own a gaming PC and provide a solution for healers who need the speed and accuracy of a KBM. I have played a few games on Xbox using a wireless keyboard and mouse, and my experience was positive.

That’s good to hear. I have an Xbox myself but haven’t tried using keyboard on mouse on it. But yes how they handle addon support for console will be very important imo.

There is no hold up. Why include it in gamepass when you can charge people for gamepass AND WoW subscription? In order to understand why a company does the things it does you have to think like the people who run these companies. It’s all about money.

I don't think there's a lot of overlap between WoW subscribers and Game Pass subscribers. My pet theory is that Microsoft is holding the WoW subscription in reserve as a way to soften the blow of the next Game Pass price hike.

You can already play it with a controller. Maybe not officially. But official stuff sucks anyways, it will be a glitch fest. Just use it the way people go now, it works.

I use the console port addon and it works great, I actually prefer playing with controller over mouse/keyboard. I’ve tried the controller support blizzard added not too long ago I believe last year and it’s ok but missing a lot features the console port addon has.

no way in hell it will without a major downgrade to that version or a huge price increase to gamepass, people paying 15 a month to 1 year subs will drop that in favor of there gamepass, i highly doubt there is enough non gamepass subs out there to make up the 10s of millions they will lose, gamepass growth has already plummeted

Ya I agree if they port to console with this version of wow it would be downgrade for console players I agree. You also make a great point about the amount of money they would lose if they merge wow accounts to game pass.

Adding WoW to Gamepass would add so much value to both. They entice a whole new audience that already has Gamepass to try out WoW that they were skeptical to try because of the subscription fee. They also entice current WoW players to upgrade to Gamepass because they would be getting more value out of other games as well as paying their WoW subscription. Also the possibility of bringing in non WoW players or gamepass subscribers to Gamepass just because of that added value. Then theres the potential of storefront sales for mounts and pets. Its a no brainer imo.

If they added GeForce now to Xbox as an app then I wouldn’t have to play wow through my browser on my series x, I get 120 fps and 1440p but still I’d like to get it on the Microsoft store. The game clearly runs on hardware older and weaker than what’s in the current series x so it wouldn’t be a downgrade considering we also have MnK support because I only play MnK on Xbox with halo and cod and stalker 2 and other games too like cp2077.

For a long time I thought W.O.W should be on consoles but the more I kept delving into ported games from pc to Xbox (don't own a playstation) you can see the drastic change in how the game plays and console usually gets a slow moving circle or bubble cursor that wouldn't be usable durring gameplay also the amount of spells and abilities a class can have and needs to participate in the more harder content like raiding , heroic doungens and mythics requires the use of all the classes abilities and consoles just don't have enough buttons. I use a 12 button press mouse to play it and even then I still need to use some keys on my micro keyboard to activate some abilities becuase I never got into making macros and my a.d.d a.d.h.d brain can't sit still to pay attention to what's needed to set them up I also strongly beleive that the clashing of the toxic player base of consoles with the current large number of toxic players on wow would create a vacuum of toxicity and unleash a hellish nightmare of a player base. The current wow players would lose their minds playing next to console players on a game that's been pc for 20 years and them being forced to play next to console players who will slow down groups due to slower reaction times would be a disaster the modern wow player base is so die hard and try hard when it comes to pvp , mythics and raiding that the levels would reach that of L.O.L it just isn't worth it right now unless blizzard moves forward and makes a wow2 that introduces console players and maybe set it up so that it's only console players on console servers and pc is left alone till its either proven to work or to not work.

@MugiwarasNakama ok so let's set up a controller, a Xbox controller has 4 main buttons 4 directional d pads two bumpers and two triggers , as a example a frost mage has 17+ abilities some are crowd control some are damage some are buff some are misc like mounts food professions pots either battle pots or buffing pots plus the new dual spec system that's been added still think a controller can do it all?

I use console port most of the time personally it works great but I would have to agree, they need a new version of wow that tailors the combat for both pc & console and also limit the amount of addons needed as console wont have all these addons readily to them on day 1 release.

The main issue can also be the thing that World of Warcraft includes cryptocurrency "WoW Token" which could cause many issues.

Thats just bad buisness to put wow on gamepass. Doesnt work like that budy. Wow sub is not expensive. But i definitely start to feel disappointed to see more n more fomo based cash shop items. But wow should definitely support Console, and we definitely going to see it. My believe it definitely be on next expansion. They have to do full spell reweork for all classes, and ui for controllers. My take is doe also is that all mechanics inside the game is made for MK players in mind. While its definitely doable content with MK players, in FFXIV , the raid mechanics example are very like a "dance" which works well for controller player, to understand their Quetimes for different events. Basically strats get very inbaked early into the players mind, which helps alot to develop a controller gamestyle.

the true problem with wow on console is you cannot drop console players in the newest dlc bc they will have no idea what is going on. I think world of warcraft is going to have their own servers so playstation/xbox or after the last titan expansion they will end world of warcraft and its 20 year old engine and release a wow 2 with a whole new story arc and new engine to run this old game. xbox has mouse and keyboard support and i have suspected that the age of controllers is coming to an end on xbox as we are more intertwined with pc every year.

I agree, I think they’ll have to make a new version of wow with both pc and consoles in mind. This version of wow will be difficult to port imo. It will be interesting what direction they will go into.

@@BlindingSun_ Having optional keyboard and mouse support is great, but all Xbox games are required to be fully playable with just a controller. Earlier this year Microsoft released ARA: History Untold as a PC exclusive because the developer didn't make the game with controller support.
