Carole King, in addition to being incredibly talented, is still astoundingly beautiful.
@BobG127Ай бұрын
Carole King is music royalty. Very few people are in her league. I don't think many people realize how many hits that she wrote that were performed by other artists before she decided to start performing her own music. I consider her "Tapestry" album a tour de force, one of the greatest albums of all time -- and that was just a sampling of her creations. It's nice to hear her -- and James Taylor -- still singing well, 50 years past their prime. Bravo.

Carole King is one of the most successful female songwriters in the US, she wrote or co-wrote 118 pop hits appearing on the Billboard Hot 100 over the latter half of the 20th centuryr. King scored her breakthrough with the album Tapestry, which topped the U.S. album chart for 15 weeks in 1971 and remained on the charts for more than six years. King has made 25 solo albums, the most successful being Tapestry, which held the record for most weeks at No. 1 by a female artist for more than 20 years. Her record sales were estimated at more than 75 million copies worldwide.] She has won four Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. She has been inducted twice into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a performer and songwriter. She is the recipient of the 2013 Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song, the first woman to be so honored. She is also a 2015 Kennedy Center Honoree.

When I was a teenager I heard this song in my imagination, got married in my 20's, heard this song, forgot to hear it in my 30's or 40's. Now I am over 60 years old. And I am listening to this song again. The song reminds me of many things at milestones in my life and gives me the strength to move forward.

Timeless. A lasting treasure, so they sing now and sang years before. Carole King is truly beautiful, inspirational. With JT, their artistic collaboration is so powerful and magical. I was a teenager, coming of age in those Wonder Years, when these anthems and iconic LP albums came out, and radio played them on AM. No MTV, no IG. The music defined us, the Tapestry woven, and James Taylor, full set of shoulder length hair and mustache, definitely made us remember that You've Got A Friend, Winter, spring, summer or fall. It was a milestone seeing him perform live back home in the Philippines, decades after he just did a sell out one in a huge venue. My peers raved, and their kids did, too. His music is for everyone who loves life, celebrates it!

I can remember back in the 70s as a junior in college, going to see Carol King in Pauley Pavilion at UCLA then the next day seeing Phoebe Snow at the Beverly Theater and then Peggy Lee in Westwood Village. Those to me, were the days when artists were true to their art without need for balloons, T&A or light shows and were so talented they could hold their audiences with just their raw talent. So glad I was there when the there was the best.
