He can fly under the radar a little, but Dafoe has been my most watched actor 2 years in a row. He’s always working with interesting filmmakers and choosing good material to work with and he’s been doing it like that since the 80s. His on going collaborations with Abel Ferrara are some of my favourites.

I just watched Inside.. the psychology behind this film is truly thought provoking, for me it depicted the end of life, there was key elements that it made me reflect on the last ten years of my fathers life, he struggled with depression, alcoholism and not eating.. he went into himself to find his own peace and light which boarded on insanity yet was still very much in tune with the fundamental of what really matters in life. Although his story is so much deeper than what I can elaborate on, the film resonated with me in a way I did not expect. When the film ended with Radio heads pyramid song I felt my emotion build and couldn’t hold back my tears… such a powerful film. Kudos to Willem Defoe his acting ability to keep the audience engaged throughout is worthy of an Oscar. Well done.
