I’ve been obsessed with wicked since I was 8 years old, and April last year my family took me to London which I had never been to before as we live a long while away, it is now my favourite place in the world and means so much to me, and I saw it for the first time with this cast. As soon as the dragon began to move I cried and cried. Ever since I have watch clips of Willemijn and the London cast and will get so overwhelmed, and you uploading this and allowing me to see her, the cast, London, even just theatre again has made me happy beyond words. Lovely to meet you and Anthony! Thank you guys for a nice chat :) As you said, I first saw Willemijn as Elphaba about ten years ago, roughly a month after Wicked opened in Germany in 2007, so her leaving was very dear to my heart. After Wizard and I, you could tell that the exceptionally long applause was also very overwhelming for her. Her DG and NGD killed me, her vocal power is just so amazing. When she said "I think it's the last time I feel..." during As Long As You Mine, I was so excited and people were cheering so much I could not hear her finish the sentence, what an amazing atmosphere and audience! I watched your Rachel Tucker cast change vlog, so I was kinda worried people would go crazy the whole time, but I think the cheers were respectful and enjoyable. I adored Sue Kelvin for embracing the cheers for her, she was having a blast. I was sitting next to friends of Mark Curry, so when he first appeared in stage they went crazy which was really fun. It was really nice to see the Wizard and Madame Morrible walk arm in arm off stage once Morrible summoned the twister or Willemijn and Suzie during Popular or For Good, the chemistry this cast had was amazing. The glow stick thing was a nice idea, but I am really glad front of house interfered, because For Good is such an intimate scene and it would have been really distracting for Willemijn and Suzie. Although I cried a lot that night, I will never forget how amazing that show was.

Thank you Oz for uploading this Sam :-) About the glow stick situation, I believe people did it at WIllemijn's last show in Germany and at the last performance of Wicked in The Netherlands as well. If you look at it that way it's a cute idea, but it is just very distracting for the audience and the performers. Especially as most people in the audience didn't know it was a cast change.

Your video makes me want to go to a Wicked cast change! Although I love the show, I haven't been to any cast changes yet, to avoid all the hassle of getting tickets (by either paying expensive prices or lining up for a crazy number of hours). But now I start to think it might be worth it because of all the energy from fans in the room (minus the glow sticks, of course, as they are indeed distractful).

Hi fellow Dutchie :) High five for seeing Willemijn in the Netherlands three times! (I saw her once with Chantal and twice with Celine) Lovely to see you had such a great time. I do think the English version does flow better than the Dutch version. The lyrics fit better or something like that, but that's just my humble opinion. Such a shame I couldn't be there at her last show, but I saw her a little over a week ago, so I'm happy :)

Maar er zijn wel dingen die ik ook weer bijvoorbeeld beter vind in het het Nederlands. Maar ik heb ergere vertalingen gehoord 😂 jammer dat je er niet bij kon zijn! Explaining cast changes to people is my favourite thing haha! During Rachel's first "last show" back in 2012 my Mum had a confused lady ask her if a member of the cast had died or something!😲🙈 Ahaha bless her! I suppose it must be strange for the audiences who are unaware! That glow stick thing sounds ridiculous though! I was only there for the matinee but heard about it from some friends! I mean it would be a cute idea to wave them as everyone leaves sd maybe? But during any point of the show is a huge no and disrespectful for other audience members!! Glad the FOH tried to stop it! x

Cast change shows (I have never seen one I only saw Broadway wicked 1 time and was there like a week after a cast change) are from video guesses get more energetic crowds and it's like the show is closing Edit: I also hate how amatures overact sometimes not wicked it's your last show and you riff you dont over act

I thinking you are exaggerating with the glowsticks. Been there in the Netherlands and it just was a magical happening. But in the netherlands our audience was just holding it before them and not waving. So if you focus to whats happening on stage you dont really get distracted. What I think is really anoying is the yelling on West End and Broadway during the songs for example in DG. Anyway, Im really curious to Willemijns whole speech. Do you have it? Could you upload it?
