In a lot of ways it did inspire rdr 2 but it’s also why the gang dynamic is kinda dry imo in both games. It feels like the dialogue more often goes through the motions when playing with a gang. Idk if it’s supposed to be an example of group mentality and no one standing out but it’s frickin stale either way and it’s not the same I feel like rockstar is better at writing stories for solo characters that interact with various individual characters. That’s why gta 4 with Niko is so awesome and the moments with Arthur in red dead truly stand out when he’s on his own

My absolute favorite GTA antagonist of all time, I found Billy very charismatic & humorous at times. But He never gave a fuck about The Lost, everything he did was for his selfish wellbeing instead of the club... Billy Grey is one of the most badass GTA Villains. He is one of the very few who will actively engaging in fighting and shooting because to him its fun compared to other villains who prefer to use their henchmen for their dirty work. He is the type to actually stir shit directly himself rather than let someone else do it. He also dosent care about dying as he wasn't fazed at all when Johnny had him cornered and he has the balls to fight back.

Late to the party, but after playing TLAD (and a few years to simmer), Billy comes off as very narcissistic, not helped by his drug habit. Sure, him and Johnny were close at some point, but I think something in him snapped when he got out and not only was The Lost MC better with Johnny at the helm, but his precious bike was gone as well. For a narcissist, one thing they cannot stand is not being in charge of the situation, which is another trait of narcissism, being a control freak. From there, Billy starts undermining Johnny, to the point of outright betrayal, when he ratted Johnny to the Triads (and hence, their hostility during the mission). By that point, Billy did not care about The Lost MC any more. If it's not up to his liking, then he sure as heck would burn it all down along with everyone involved. All of Billy's actions throughout TLAD revolves around his narcissism, his neverending need to stamp his authority and prestige on The Lost MC, and when things did not go to plan, decided to just burn it all down and possibly walk away a free man, all to sate his own ego.

It actually makes sense. Think about it, johnny lost EVERYTHING all except ashley (also Terry and the other guy). When you lose everyone you love except then you will eventually lose hope and give up on life and do things that you think you'll never have done in your life. The reason why johnny did drugs because he wanted the pain to go away, he wanted to forget all the things that happened to him, his friends, and his life. That's also why he moved to los santos, to forget everything that happened People (or gta 4 fanboys) need to stop like acting like johnny is like this anti super man doomsayer and remember that Johnny was a real person (In game of course) and it may not seem like it but he actually had feelings too. I'm not saying that Johnny's death wasn't lame (because it kinda was) but all the crap he went through kinda make his death more sense. I'm honestly dissapointed in GTA V's potrayal of a man heavy on drugs. I honestly don't believe a strung out methhead would have the ability to take down an entire chapter of a biker gang, take a 20 mill. super wepon, take over a damn business and even scare people. Anyone scared of Trevor are damn pansy's I'm glad Michael is the one to kill Trevor in the option to kill the strung out dipshit. Billy in TLAD is the perfect example of a man stuck on drugs. He's calm and multitive as he's able to not only ambush Johnny and Jim, he's also set up some perfect deals like the lawyer Dave to keep the government off their asses and taking the heroin for cash (though this adventerlly a very stupid move), but that's what made his character perfected he felt real. I wish Rockstar would go back to these realistic views, but they are long out of their league now just ironically like Billy so out of control "he went insane". Just something I noticed between GTA IV and GTA V.

Trevor is not to be portrayed as a man heavy on drugs but more towards a sociopath. Gta Vs story has morr under the cover that no one seems to notice and it upsets me. sure its not the same technique as four but if you really look toward it its great. The Lost were in shambles since IV so they are the equivalent or soft butter. Trevor on the other hand is like his statue of imponent rage. hes calm but explodes. even though he seems absolutely looney, hes very loyal. Micheal is a fuckin snake but since everyone in the game sees trevor is bad, mike seems good. Billy never knew Niko killed Jason. He probably knew Mikhail Faustin had something to do with it because he mentions him by saying "her heavy duty father didnt like it". But he probably just assumed that he got some random goon to do it and didnt even know Niko existed. Knowing that he probably couldn't touch Faustin, he decided to use it as a justification against the AOD.

In GTA IV & EFLC, Rockstar did the best job imaginable at creating antagonists who were unlikeble & impossible to sympathize with, to the point where you couldn't wait to kill them: Billy Grey, Dmitry Rascalov, Mikhail Faustin, Vlad, Jimmy Pegorino. I thought that Rocco would be killed at the end of TBOGT given how scummy & unlikable he was, so I was very surprised when that wasn't the case. But he was killed in GTA V, so he got his comeuppance eventually.

It's kind of gray.. no pun intended. Jim and Johnny for some reason thought it was a good idea to try and sell the Triads back the heroin they stole... And not expect it to be a trap. Like I know Billy is a self serving asshole, but he has some points. He was right about Ashley, right about the shoot outs and contrary to the dialogue with Johnny we see him chatting with or being around Angus in two or three scenes. Billy even reminds Johnny that both he and Angus built his bike for him. Dude wasn't going back to prison for some guys that were dumb and probably backstabbed him. He said he'd rather die than go to prison and he didn't wimp out like any of the other antagonists... you had Dimitri begging, Vlad bluffing, Mikhail losing his marbles, Playboy X/Clarence bluffing, and Bulgarin trying to save himself with the grenade. Billy faced death. No whining, no speeches.. Johnny wasn't ready to take him down so he forced him to do it by whipping out the knife. There isn't any other GTA villain that I know of in general that had a death like Billy's (besides Smoke, he ready with the heat).
