It sees like it's been forever. I have been watching the videos, listening to the calls and now the livestreams. Finally FINALLY put my house on the market TODAY. One. Step. Closer. The tour I took in 2021 still fills my head with the desire to go back. I have watched videos about every country from Ecuador to Malaysia and I keep coming back to Panama as the best option. Seeing the real live people getting housing that is affordable makes it better too. the ads online and the groups are full of rentals that are way above my price range... keep it up I need the motivation!!

$500 is a good price but such homes are usually in Panamanian areas rather than expat enclaves. You have to be careful that you won't be listening to dogs barking day and night when living close to locals.

Some locals do not have barking dogs. That's certainly something to check out before you sign a lease.

Most Americans who speak Spanish as a second language learn the words, but frequently mispronounce them because the letters are familiar but they are pronounced differently. I once met a Russian man who was totally fluent in English, but I couldn't understand a word he said because of his accent. Forty years ago, my husband and I attended the Spanish Language Institute in Costa Rica and we spent one hour per day totally focused on Spanish pronunciation and getting rid of our American accents. It was time well spent.

I was reading your PRT website and it said that I needed $1000 or more SS per month or it would be very expensive for me to live in Panama. Is that retirement $ accurate? I am on SS but don't make $1000. So, should I rule out Panama?

You need to make at least $1000 per month in lifetime income to qualify for the pensionado visa. Honestly, you need a minimum of $1000 a month to live a modest lifestyle in Panama. So, if your retirement income is not at least $1000 per month in lifetime income, you should rule out Panama.

Why do people tend to idealize places, when we know that wherever we go there we are and that there's no Shangri-La. We are born get old, get sick and die...Of course there are good times in between and exploring living in another culture could bring temporary relief...😊

Rent is $500 a month for a furnished two bedroom. The pool is cleaned by the landlord. The tenant has to clean their own house or they can pay a maid $20 to do it. Rarely have electrical outages in that area. No place is perfect. But it's fun to have a NEW adventure instead of being stuck in the same old same old.
