@Covertnoob5 Hands down the best review I’ve seen on this scope to date my man !! Way in depth analysis of all aspects of the scope and raw honesty of the actual pitfalls that most people have been neglecting to talk about on it lol. As a fellow Glass snob myself, not self proclaimed but given to me by clients, prior bosses, coworkers and apprentices from in the day I can tell you sir that the things that were discussed were on point !! The fact of the matter is at the price point of $4300 is that they have put themselves into the wrong category of glass and it’s hard to justify their scope over a Tangent or a ZCO that just plain outperforms their scope in all aspects in my opinion for that dollar. Yes it’s a shorter and somewhat lighter scope but it’s limitations and downsides, at least for me don’t get my motor running. If I’m running a 90 degree bolt or want to swap out to one that causes major issues. The Area 419 mount is a BEAST and I sell them but I do prefer running Spuhr mounts as it’s what I have always ran and it’s just a personal preference. Since my days with my Schmidtt & Benders. I love and respect that left side windage and wish more could figure that out but it’s just not justifiable to buy a scope with too many holes in it for that when I can run a better scope for it and a nice field of view on certain magnifications. Plus that 50mm objective is horrid lol. If I wanted an Tasco air gun BB gun scope on a $10-20k custom rifle I built for myself or a client I’d save $4300 and buy one of Amazon for $20 lmao. I’d rather have the Kahles 525i DLR and save a bunch of money and still be able to run a trigger cam with it and have data for training aids etc etc. Other than this long A$$ book I wrote KILLER review man and keep up the great job here on the Ole KZbin man. Good luck out there competing as well man!!

The scope is a Kahles K328i and turned out to be a pony. Just as short and incomprehensible))) If you don't need a lower magnification of 3.5x for the PRS. For hunting, you do not need a magnification of 28x))) Kahles K328i as a heavy hunting sight ! Comparing how parallax works with ZCO, I didn't like it. It doesn't have that great depth like ZCO. The ZCO is definitely sharper than glass, but has a small field. I apologize for the awkward translation of Google.

My comments, for what they are worth: 56mm will get you more light (and really only an advantage in low light conditions) whilst the 50mm will get you better depth of field (this is basic physics as the light entering the objective does not have to bend as much) - which means the 50mm picture quality "pops" more than 56mm. This is the reason many target shooters (F-class etc) use an aperture ring to reduce the input angle of the light - you get a better picture quality of the target. This is NOT marketed or designed as a hunting scope - it is specifically designed for PRS / long range type shooting and included input from Shannon Kay, K&M and various other PRS shooters as part of the specification development. The reason for the 36mm tube is to get more elevation (not required for a hunting scope).

I think that scope wanted to be in the area of the March FX 4.5x28x52 High Master. Kahles dropped a dud. My March FX High Master 4.5x28x52 is the shorter, lighter, HUNTING SCOPE that it wanted to be. Kahles lost out in pretty much everything compared to my March. This March sits on my Weatherby Mark V KCR 6.5x300 Wby. Its a superlative optic. Just superlative.

What benefits do you think would come from the scope being longer in the front end? I understand that you would have more space for the front scope ring, but that would still be hard to use considering that the scope already needs to be mounted pretty far up. And like you mentioned it would look more proportionate. I've been using this optic since the launch, and have really appreciated that it is short. That being said i do use it for both prs and hunting. For prs the advantage has been that i can rest my thumb over the nv bridge on my chassis. with a longer scope i'd have to keep my thumb a bit more to the side. Definetely not a big deal, but it's something others have pointed out aswell. For hunting i mainly do stalking in the mountains, where the shooting distance can be anywhere from 10m to 500m. This scope has been great for that due to the fov and mag-range. The compact length makes it fit well in my vorn backpack, and clip-ons are somewhat easy to reach. I'm not the guy to complain about weight either so i've been happy with the 36oz. This scope could definitely be tailored more towards competetion shooting, or the complete opposite like a crossover hunting optic. It seems to be in some wierd middleground that we haven't really seen before. I've found good ways to put it to use, but i get why this scope can be a bit confusing. Anyways, I've been enjoying the quality content lately. Keep up the good work!

@@nikolasomland9200 thanks for the feedback and use case! So making a scope longer in theory could help make certain aspects even better. DoF, ease of parallax, etc. because you have more room to get the components in there. Now I can appreciate that it works for you and that’s great, but I think you said it exactly. The scope is in a weird middle ground that I don’t really think anyone asked for. Heavy for a traditional hunting scope, but not fully geared towards PRS. I guess my main point is I would’ve liked to see them pick 1 direction and go all out in that. Shit makes 2 different scopes. A PRS all out top of the line then a better version of the K318 that they have. But I’m glad it’s working for you and I don’t want people to think it’s a dog shit scope. It’s not, but again, if you want to price yourself with the big dogs (ZCO/TT) then you gotta come to play in all aspects.

I think the 50mm objective increases the field of view. Thats one of the major selling points of this scope and th 1-8 gen 2. A massive field of view is the new trademark of Swarovski/Kahles. I think its because DLO bitched about the original 5-25´s field of view.

We all bitched about the original K525 then they did the DLR which was definitely better. I promise you they can do this FOV with a 56mm objective. You’ll see soon enough. Why they didn’t do it the first time around is beyond me.

@@thegriff9425 well in theory it could make a few different optical aspects a little easier to accomplish; resolution, brightness, etc. not that it’s horrid on this scope but if you’re competing with ZCO and TT then you gotta come with it in all aspects not just FOV which is admittedly really really nice.

Hey mate - I've subbed.I have a 525DLR so I was very interested to see this review and to be fair I would have love to have seen some direct comparisons on glass and FOV... ...but - I feel like there is a lot of bro science in this video and in your words "I want this scope to be 3 inches longer with a 56mm objective and I think you'd have a fucking winner". Your main concerns with this scope seem to be A) cant fit the Triggercam B) it's not long enough and C) it doesn't have a 56 mm objective. Part of me kinda feels like you maybe missing the point of this scope? The selling point is 3 fold for me: A) large FOV, B) LH windage, C) top parralax and for me a bonus D) 10 Mil revolutions. The FOV is quite remarkable. You make a great point about being able to run higher magnifications. But for me, I would run only slightly higher and have the increased FOV so that you can see more environmentals whilst having the ability to maybe stay on the rifle and transition easily to the next target. Win win, win. Also, one potential downside of running a higher magnification is that there is a potential to have more 'perceived' recoil on larger calibres. Regarding the parallax - I wonder that if you were running the scope at a higher magnification therefore the parallax became more picky? I watched the whole thing - would love to see a side by side with the 525DLR. PS - where is all the Triggercam footage of matches - I'd watch that.

@@thegriff9425 so the reason I want it longer with a bigger objective is because those things should allow them to make the optical performance even better. It’s not ZCO/TT level. Close, but if you’re going to be more expensive than ZCO you better be better than ZCO on a multitude of levels. The FOV is massive but that alone isn’t going to be enough to sway most experienced PRS shooters to switch to this. When you’re shooting a 22lb dasher you have no recoil so you don’t need more FOV. You need higher mag cause targets these days are getting smaller. Same reason most top guys all shoot non tree reticles. I also prefer non tree reticles. They don’t do anything but get in the way these days. With good fundamentals even a big caliber shouldn’t move much unless it’s a light hunting rifle and those suck to shoot no matter what. A 10lbs 300 Norma will never feel good lol Lots of scopes have 10 mils turrets so that’s kinda a moot point. LSW is probably the biggest advantage Kahles currently has. As far as parallax being related to the higher mag, if in fact that was the case that shouldn’t happen. So it goes back to my original point of make it longer with a bigger objective. I’d argue that I’m not sure there is a point of this scope. Who needs both 3.5x and 28x in the same scope? Not PRS guys, not most hunters. Who needs a short 3.5-28? Who needs a 50mm objective that can’t get accomplished by a 56mm objective. I just wanted them to pick a direction. Either a hunting scope or a full tactical PRS scope. This thing sits in a middle ground that I struggle to see a big market for. I post match footage and TRIGGERCAM stages on my IG! Definitely stop by and if you like the content hit the follow button over there! Appreciate the feedback tho and I’m always open to discussion!
