Are the tires original? Those look like they are in fantastic shape. Usually the tires on these old toys are hard as a rock and extremely brittle and will crumble if you touch them.

Yes they are ,not quite solid yet, but definitely a little dry rotted

25 cents seems a bit pricey for 1956. Was that normal?

Maybe someone changed the coin mech? My parents used to tell me that Pinball machines back then (50s) would give 2 games for a nickel. So unless there were prizes involved, I'm guessing it was a nickel or a dime at most. If there were prizes, a quarter might not be that unreasonable.

No it was originally $.10 though the client wanted it at a quarter and you know how that goes. They’re always right.

Unfortunately, no, I’ve tried other things, but as the directions say, lentil, beans are the best choice
