A lovely story well-told, Bob. "When you stop learning, you're dead"-there are many good life lessons in this story. I fear we're losing too many craftspeople now with our high tech methods, though the improvements in technology are good, he concedes. Watching someone like my friend Doug, a master cabinet maker, cut dovetails by hand with a Japanese saw, is a marvel and watching it done with a CNC milling machine cannot duplicate it in spirit, though it's perfect.
