Ahhhhh this was so cute! I live in Philly and it was so fun to see the city from your perspective. I highly recommend moving here if you're looking to live in a city that's bigger than Baltimore but not as big as NYC. You get all the benefits of city life (night life, art scene, restaurants, museums, etc) without it being super expensive. Come to Philly!

Me and my roommate gave 2 Good to Go a try once, but she ended up receiving like 3 dozen bagels! We were struggling to use them all up. You're right that they should just be going to folks in need of food around the community instead.

As a Philly native my favorite go to spots are 1. Good harvest in china town (open till mad late) 2. Devon’s in rittenhouse 3.pho street cafe on 20th st n market 4. One pound cheesesteak in Kensington 5. Nickels tavern in south Philly right off the highway across from the McDonald’s (best wings and drinks) 6. el vez in the gayborhood they have AMAZING NACHOS AND FAT MARGS

As a Philly native, I appreciate this. A couples though, it’s the gallery even though it goes by the “fashion district” now lol. The fish town town area can be a vibe and so is old city. If you’re in Philly again one shot cafe is a great place to get breakfast coffee and chill or work at, and it’s roughly a 10 min walk from Torididthat. On 30th and market there’s a rooftop that plays free movies on Wednesday evenings called sunset social, they also host events and it’s a nice place to check out in the summer.

Philadelphia will put you between DC and NYC. I live in a gentrified area in Philly and I love it. My mortgage and property taxes are low, relatively speaking . Financially it’s a great move. The trains to NYC & DC are inexpensive too. My recommendation is to stay far far away from the hood improvised areas. If you stay away, in my opinion you will be relatively safe . The upper scale parts of the city are very Caucasian though, with a sprinkle of minorities, if your cool with that.

Too-Good-To-Go is great once you know the gooood places to buy from, and exactly what time they post because they go fast 😅. I use it at the organic supermarket and get a good mix of fruits and veg, enough to last me the week, and sometimes meat too. If I get too much zucchini or whatever I either give it to my neighbours, or cook and freeze, or wash, chop and freeze ready to use later.

I'm originally from Jersey but moved to the east coast for over a decade. Had to go back to Jersey but the flight landed in Philly and I drove to Jersey, the women there were nasty. They literally had an attitude for no reason. The East coast period is more aggressive and you are always on edge.
