Chet Holmgern is nearly his equal. It's gonna be interesting to see how that plays out. Chet actually helped his team win this year, but the win loss record of the Spurs gives no evidence that Victor was even there. Look it up man! Spurs with WImby -- +0 wins from the last 2 seasons compared. Chet with OKC -- +17 wins and a 2 round playoff run VS last season. Chet leads Wimby in win shares, FG% and several other categories. Wimby is dominant defensively, but not nearly to the extent you'd expect. I put Chet just a little bit worse overall right now. This will be an interesting future to examine. I wonder who will climb higher?
@craigwheeler47605 ай бұрын
Chet Holmgren >> Victor Wemby. He actually made his team better. The Spur's record doesn't even notice that Victor was even there, they did not improve a single game. Chet Holmgren, with no other changes to his team's roster, boosted them from 40 to 57 wins in his first season.

37:24 if we’re being real wemby was robbed of having the best rookie season of all time. ROTY Wemby 21.4 pt 10.6 reb 3.9 ast Vs Chet 16.5 pt 7.9 reb 2.4 ast And it was not till late that they started to give Wemby his credit. Even with him being 5 pt 2.3 reb 1.5 ast more. All-star Wemby had 3rd most votes of any player in the nba only behind lebron and curry but yet he did not get his all star spot not even a reserve cuz that said he did not earn it yet do to team record 🤦🏽♂️ DPOY Wemby 3.6 blocks 1.2 steals reb 10.6 Vs Rudy 2.2 blocks 0.7 steals reb 12.9 Wemby Cleary should win it even if you use team metrics like that tried so they can’t give Rudy the awarded. Rudy’s team has a 106 points allowed when he’s on the floor when he’s off the floor it’s a 107 point that’s a 1 point difference with him on the team vs him off Wemby’s team has a 124 points allowed with him off the floor and jump up to 110 when he’s on the floor that’s a 14 point difference he makes. It’s clear they just did not want to give it to him cuz he’s a rookie. They think cuz they gave him defensive first team that makes up for robbing him. Wemby is better then Rudy. No matter what anyone’s says states prove it Rudy is a trash defender every where but the paint. Look at him right now in playoffs he’s the weak link

Rudy Gobert is leading the Timberwolves in on-off (By a LOT) in the playoffs as an offensive liability btw
@kingslay7277 ай бұрын
@@Time_Lapse_Master. Rudy gobert is the same guy who is getting game point scored on him every game they lose right? 🤔 the DPOY can’t also be the guy that gets cooked over and over and over in crunch time he’s a slightly above average defender he’s not even the best best defender on his team McDaniels is a better defender Naz Reid is as well. Rudy can’t only defend the paint that’s it outside of the paint he’s a liability. He’s can’t be DPOY when opposing teams offense and game plan in late minuets is to attach Rudy or get him to switch on to ball.

@@kingslay727 Answer the question. If he's such a liability on defense and he barely contributes on offense if at all (I think we can both agree on that), why are the Timberwolves 20 points better with him on the court? Sure, maybe some of that is funky sample sizes but he's already played 400+ minutes in the playoffs and even if +20 is exaggerated the true value probably still lands at at least ~+10. That's elite.
@kingslay7277 ай бұрын
@@Time_Lapse_Master. yes he dose turn shots away in 1-3 Qt but look at all the serious and games played he’s the one who gets killed in 4th Qt game 1 vs mavs Kyrie hits a dagger over him cuz he can’t keep up. Game 2 Luka killed him 1 on 1 game 3 he gets dunked on twice by Gafford for the game. In the nuggets series that win 2 games if devastating fashion Rudy comes back and Jokić goes for 40 back to back games why is that cuz Rudy is a trash 1 on 1 defender. He’s only good in triangular defense or if they allow him to just sit paint.
@kingslay7277 ай бұрын
@@Time_Lapse_Master. and where dose it say their 20 points better cuz their a 107 defense over all with him off the floor they go to 108 with him on the floor they go to 106 that’s a 2 point difference. Where would they be without McDaniels and Nas Reid

I don’t think anyone can hate Victor literal alien of a player and wants to give the spurs fans what they want, unless he pulls a the decision but def a going to be the greatest player of the 2020s

People talking about "best ever in teamsport" have absolutely no clue what they are talking about. The US isn't the world (i know he is from France), they are probably only thinking of American football, basketball and hockey.

Never would think someone has the ability to do better than wilt Chamberlin or Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. His team just needs to be good enough for wembys points to mean something also.

Why rookie of the year has anything to do with their team win /loss is the most ridiculous comments! It is rookie of the year, not rookie of the year on a winning team!

If anything, your team being dogshit should help your case because you're putting in the performances with basically no help. It made no sense watching the idiotic "analysts" talk themselves in circles around Chet only to ruin their own argument
