I don’t know how intentional it was, or if I can word this properly but I think it’s absolutely genius the way the song keeps revisiting the lyrics “going, going, gone” but every single time the word gone is such a different note than one would expect to resolve the phrase and it feels so fitting given the theme of the song as a whole being that she wants to get her own, proper ending. And as someone else pointed out the final visitation of that lyric is left in the air, as she actually is gone. Just as abruptly as the note that was sung with the word, except a feeling of continuing on to hopefully resolve that phrase is replaced with nothing. Beautiful, in my opinion.

I have no idea if it's just my perspective and understanding of the visualization and animation of this music video. I may have made something up in my head after watching it for the hundredth time I guess However, at 3:29, when the words stop and only crickets can be heard in the background, literally the moment after the last photo was shown in the animation, the "POV" of the clip reminds me of closed eyes, or rather the way they are demonstrated in the animations, games etc. In addition, the red, delicate rim slightly stylizes the eyes of people who have just cried? As I said, it's probably my opinion and understanding of that moment. Also, sorry for bad english, or if it was weirdly typed, used goggle translator for this.

Watching it for the fifth time is not easier than the first, goddamnit! Also, on one hand this *could* be a school AU? But it makes no sense why Stelle has a spiked baseball bat. I mean, ok, it makes sense symbolically, but hear me out: So, what is Firefly’s biggest dream/regret? I mean, obviously she wants to live, but she has stated that she really wants to go to school. I choose to interpret this as a literal dreamscape, it would explain the unrealistic sky and the holdovers from reality. It seems to be a kind of… hospice care. Instead of a lucid dream of Penacony, it’s a dream where the participants truly believe to be highschoolers. You could interpret the scene with Stelle and Firefly facing off as some kind of roleplay, but I think it is more of a situation where Firefly is trying to remove herself from her loved ones before her time finally comes. Stelle literally threatening to beat Firefly back into the dream. Then we see the sea of nihilty, an empty dreamplane. Stelle is standing naked over a curled up Firefly and extends her hand, I think it’s basically saying “I am here for you till the end, come with me and don’t rob me of our last moments”. That’s why later we see Firefly distressed, because even if she’s back in the “dream”, her psychological state is deteriorating alongside her physical body. In the end we see firefly smiling, but then it cuts to a picture, so we’re unsure if she found peace before passing away, or if that’s just a memory of a past. I mean, it makes sense, doesn’t it? She wanted to experience school, so that would’ve been where she’d like to spend her last few moments.
