Interessante soluzione. Bravo! ma io un paio di modifiche le apporterei: la barra filettata che sostiene la mola la farei di diametro di almeno 10 o anche 12, per evitare che fletta (lo si vede dal filmato), facendo ruotare in modo anomalo la mola; naturalmente il serraggio al trapano deve essere modificato se il mandrino non sopporta i diametri di 10 o 12 mm. Forse la grana della mola non è quella pù adatta per affilare le lame di pialle e scalpelli ...

Needs refining. Stronger shaft, balanced wheel, slow rotation possibly, less width to stop flexing, wooden wheel with changeable wet and dry paper on outside and slow rotation with water drip to give mirror like scalpel sharpness

These videos are simply super! ❤ Why? Because you do not need any super special device, appliances, and can you make it home! Somebody is complaining that kindergarten level, etc.. I don't agree, look:professionals will need no videos, some people simply buy some sharpener, but, most of people want to do something, have just basic hand tools, no big expensive machines, no room to store it, and these people are eager for help, as me. So real pro, inventor, can give you advice, how to create some gadget, help, how to use one hand electric device several way, etc.. And that I highly appreciate! 👍

Nice use of the tools you own. Still, there's nothing like having the right tools. You also could mount more than one grinding wheel and end up with a polished finish on your irons. But you MUST get rid of the wobble and the eccentricity of the wheel. Then again, I wouldn't opt for using a drill and some all-thread for a shaft.

Cool idea, just need to balance the wheel to get rid of the up and down action but otherwise very neat. You might want to clean and sharpen your hole saw and drill bits. It will help with the appearance of the cut and it will make it cut better too. The black that it leaves behind is called burning and it could catch on fire. Don't want you getting hurt or anything, stay safe and keep building! 😁

Вогнутая линзовидная заточка весьма широко распространена, в т.ч. и на железках рубанков. Биение убирается за 5-10 минут. Сама идея вполне годная (посмотрите заточные станки TORMEK)

Pliers are for HOLDING things.....not mutilating nuts and bolts. Get some remedial training in the use of tools.

I have to ask if this contraption is as safe as the proper bench grinder. I notice that in all these videos that top of the line tools such as angle grinders, drills are used rather than cheaper unbranded models. This is obviously because brands like De Walt while being comparively expensive are safe sturdy and reliable. Yet they will modify these tools in a way never designed and compromise safety. This video reminded me of my late father, who rigged up a bench saw, which he also used as a chisel sharpener. As a child I never realized what a dangerous contraption it was with no guards of any kind and spinning at a high speed. He didnt use push sticks or wear earmuffs. Perhaps he was lucky that he didn't suffer serioius injury especially that carpentry was his livelihood. We have come a long way since then but I hope I have learnt to repect power tools and use the right tool for the job.

I own 6 six planes and have sharpened them on a wet stone for 20+ years. I do not see an advantage to this. Likewise, I can sharpen all six several times in the time it took you to build this, and I get a razor sharp blade when I am done. In my opinion it is not a trick it is a waste of time unless you are doing 100 blades at a time and if you are, you would need a better quality machine than this.

Looks like the plane iron would get hot and draw the temper if you couldn't quickly and frequently quench it. The idea seems sound, but without a way to quench the piece, it seems like it'd be the ruination of your blades.

In 1/4 the time it took to construct this monstrosity, you could have manually sharpened ALL of your knife blades, chisels and plane blades with a wet stone (oil stone, diamond stone etc).

Камень ровно не получилось установить? Нужна втулка, тогда биение будет минимальным, но при наличии сверлильного станка сверлить шуруповертом и дать неверное направление для оси это нужно суметь такое сотворить, и все получилось..., а точить полотно без правки это шедевр. Идея понятна, но реализация на 3-.

Красиво, умно сделано, но заточку производят кругом на нож.

Соприкосновение лезвиия рубанка и абразивного круга происходит не по плоскости заточки, а по точкам линии, т.к. круг имеет кривизну. Затачиваемая поверхность не прилегает всей плоскостью к кривой поверхности круга. Заточка будет ребристой,не идеальной. Лезвие надо повернуть на 90 градусов к кругу и двигать вперёд-назад. Вобщем поделка=туфта.

Забиваем гвозди адронным коллайдером. При наличии в мастерской инструмента общей стоимостью с адронный коллайдер в ней не нашлось второго гаечного ключа, хотя бы разводного. Люфты, биение... хай-тек в стиле хай-так.

Во первых, шпильку надо жёстко зафиксировать во внутренних обоймах подшипников, иначе их разобьёт, и тогда к уже имеющемуся биению камня добавится люфт в подшипниках. Во вторых, камень надо выровнять алмазом и отбалансировать. А в третьих, такую приблуду лучше сделать к заточному станку, а не лепить этот колхоз

this disk will destroy the blade. a proper system would spin slowly and require continuous water cooling. besides, no adjustment of the angle. it will not work for shorter blades. not even try to imitate this.

Oh hell no...I will stick to hand sharpening....there is so many inconsistencies...hell the blade practically jumps off the wheel.
