i think it’s because the bpm and time signature is the same, and the ambience makes it sound more gentle. those two combined seem different compared to the crisp, heavily produced quality of the album version.
@korova.mp33212 жыл бұрын
slower songs tend to have a more gentle way of being played due to the time between notes and events. also, this is a live performance, so Will cannot direct the people around him to “be more aggressive with it” or “more frantic”. also, it cannot be edited in such a way that emphasizes the speed of the song. the monologue also may have affected its “speed” too. it was much slower and didn’t have the panicked piano playing in the background, so it calmed down the music around it. idk, i didn’t write this.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this, but i think the subject of the second verse might be a doctor who had prescribed the guy from the first verse, or other people who suffered similar fates, medications that lead to their death. The line "a map to all the victims of his love" could be about homicide like some people say, but the victims of his love could also represent clients whom he thought he was helping, while the medicines he prescribed actually killed them, hence them being his 'victims'. And the tattoo of a bluejay probably represents a lot of things but i think it could call back to the "kevlar baby-blue tuxedo" which may refrence a doctor/nurses uniform, and also could reference project BLUEBIRD. Idk but the symbolism and meaning in this song is really fascinating to me and i think its a really good criticism of the pharmaceutical industry's flaws!

ayo can y'all shut up abt will for a second and talk about the rest of the band? don't get me wrong, I think will is an insanely talented musician, but I feel like he gets the most love while the rest of the band get thrown to the side.

This is amazing!! Song is just flowing and you can’t stop listening it. By the way, I thought that someone different is playing piano, but now I realised that Will is playing and singing, just I have no words how incredible it is.

I transcribed this version of the monologue ("The Interview" in the chapters): Tom Sugarman, LCSW. Ah, yes. Hello, Mr. Crick. How are you today? No, not to worry. It’s perfectly natural to be nervous when doing something like this for the first time. So, uh. Why don’t you take a seat? Get comfortable. Take a second if you need to, all right? Good. Now, uh.. What's- what- what- what- What, uh.. What’s bothering you? Well, why not start from the beginning? Growing up, how was your relationship with the fundamentals of conscious existence? Did you have xenon or continue spilling down the Outer center of your blooming escher/mandelbrot head? And how about claustrophillic tendrils clapping caskets closed on seven knuckle thumbs? Did you get along well with the gideon bugle Or pineal glands your projector casting sci-fi Your STR’d strands? Interesting. Tell me about your nerve to steal nerves of steel from under Bacchus' bloody nose Did Namibian Himbas tie-dye you, your ears pierced with a Phineas Gage flagpole Did you die before your day? Well, Thursday traction and then Tuesday titration. No- My hope is to assess through my objective report of Your subjective conjecture Whether or not this proprietary blend of expertise and seasoning works as well as this Trans-orbital ice pick Holistic Ballistics. What, you got a better idea? Oh, it’s about the best we come up with. What, you think ideas spread because they’re good? No! They spread because people like them. So, once again here we are. Okay- Yeah, yeah, yeah, One more time. Holding a mirror As it were A mirror Up to your Mirror. I guess it’s just something people do.
