Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory Candy Maker Kit, 1971 - Make Wonka Bars!

I own one of these kits, and am its original and only owner. What you apparently don't know was how people actually got their hands on these, but I remember it quite well. I was 9 years old in 1971, and I saw the movie in the first week it was out. They were handing out golden tickets at the theatre -- and the ticket was basically a coupon for the factory kit. Send the ticket and a buck (I think it was) to Quaker Mills and voila, you got your own factory. As far as I can tell they only handed out the golden tickets for the first few showings, so these are *quite* rare. My own kit was only used once or twice, but I pulled it out a few days ago to share with my ten-year-old niece, whom I showed this video as a "tutorial" for what we would be doing. We made two of each bar and the Oompa-loompa, as well as assorted holiday candies and she loved every minute of it.

The cereal mascots are there because Quaker Oats financed the film's budget and wanted to enter the candy market but ironically the bars were recalled due to factory problems and never ended up being sold

***** yea pretty much, so most people just buy the white chocolate wafers and add gel food coloring (not the liquid, im told the liquid will change the candies consistency though idk how true that is) as well as add flavoring to them.

Yes that is what the chocolate wafers are lol sorry they have 2 names, wafers in some countries and choco melts in others. The liquid wont turn it gloopy but it will take almost have of the liquid coloring to even get remotely close to a dark color.

I just became a new subscriber. It's very interesting to find out all the cool setups they had before I was born in 76 and even after. I had a easy bake oven as a kid but the cord was removed. I just used my imagination with playdoh and the tools that came with both the oven and the play dough. I wasn't able to find these toys when my 2 girls were younger but now I would love to find them especially the Willy wonks chocolate melted with the molds. They love doing crafts and baking so these would all be perfect

Look on eBay for all of the older toys. I have done all the Easy Bake Ovens through history and their rivals on video. That was common for Easy Bake to be used with Playdoh!
