I’m so glad there’s someone who hates those circus peanuts as much as me
@marthawelch42894 ай бұрын
The foamy orange peanut shaped abominations were the first things I threw away in my Halloween trick or treat bag. Next were the unwrapped Karo Syrup popcorn balls. And then the loose or bagged Kandy Korn went into the large brown paper grocery bags in the trash can. That left small candy bars, gum, fruit candy, actual fruit, and the prize that we hoped for - large chocolate bars like Milky Ways, Hershey's I guess I am too old to have had Willie Wonka as a character in my childhood. And, I am OK with that.

You know how long it took me to figure out how to eat peanuts from the circus?? Honestly, sucking on a salty peanut shell doesn't do it for me. Not only that, but nobody, upon nobody knew what a Smurph was in 1971, but Violet inflated to become a big plump and round blueberry. The 2005 version does the size justice if you're sticking to the book, she'll just take longer to get juiced.....

J.K. Rowling was inspired by "The Worst Witch" and has said as much. George Lucas was inspired by Buck Roger's and Flash Gordan to make Star Wars, but you don't hear anyone saying he stole the ideas.
@Highice0074 ай бұрын
@@somebodysomething4242 My point was, people attack creators like Rowling and Lucas for being inspired by works they grew up with, as if creators works are supposed to be 100% original. I've even seen post by people condemning her for the Hippogriff, because she copied it from Greek mythology. Mel Brooks made the comedy Young Frankenstine after being inspired as a kid from original monster movies from his childhood, which he would be condemned for today. I just hate that works manifested from childhood inspiration and demonised today. It's like, Hear little Billy, watch this to entertain yourself, but for fuck sakes do let it lead to a future passion, and don't write or make a movie about any subject that has ever been covered ever.
@colleenmarin89074 ай бұрын
@Highice Mel Brooks does satire, homage, and spoofs. Do you think "Not Another Teen Movie" was inspired by and not a blatant spoof? Perhaps you're not clear on the differences between these words?
