I use to get pitted there before i fell into alcohol addiction but still got love for all the cronulla boys , great to see them videos.. shout out to Ben Sawyer my old mate who never let me down ! Im 40 now i use to surf there 20 years ago growing up in cronulla from a south american background !!

Wow this takes me back. I lived on Cronulla Point for about 4 years in the mid to late 90's when I was in my late 20's to early 30's. I'd started body boarding in Coffs Harbour a few years previously. I surfed the point quite a lot, getting a few good waves when i could but it was always very competitive. I loved cabbage patch though. I remember going out to Shark Island maybe no more than a dozen times, and my best memory was on a day like this. I took off about half way (white rock is it?), got barreled a bit then clipped my right knee on surge, but made it out. Lost a chunk out of my wet suit and knee but it was the best wave of my life. I also remember being dragged across the rocks like one of your other videos where you hurt your knee. Thanks for your honesty. It's amazing to have a wave like this in Sydney!

Willy! what sized board does your buddy ride? im looking for a board but im a bit on the heavier side so i was wonder what he uses to shred. Thanks!

He rides a 41. He's a bit shorter and normally with his build you'd wanna use a 42+, but he prefers a shorter board because he likes the way it feels slotting into barrels. Ultimately it depends on the kind of waves you like to ride, how big they are and how you like to ride. I recommend before buying, do some board swaps with some friends when you are out in the surf and see how each board size feels so you can decide for yourself. For example I'm a tall guy and ppl line me should ride a 42 (Hardy is same height and he rides 42 also). But I did a board swap with a friend who road a 40 and I got the best barrel of my life with it -- so I bought a 41 and am enjoying it.
