Although the valves look fresh , that view u previously showed of the pistons looked like they had done a lot of work. The rings grooves looked very worn ( lots of slop up and down) . I could be wrong though : )
@xacoupeguy7 ай бұрын
its also possible it had a valve job before being binned

The Oct 42 motor that came in my Nov 41 had an inch of water in the pistons for who knows how long. It was stuck. I’d never done anything like this before but I got it unstuck and disassembled. My local machine shop resleeved it back to standard and it’s built and ready to install when I get the tub done. It was pricey but it’s a solid motor now.

I would save this motor. New bearings crank grind. Sleeves cam regrind with lifters reface. Weld the block, basically a fresh rebuild by your own hand.
@xacoupeguy7 ай бұрын
such a shame it was pulled apart. if the motor runs well, dont take it apart

Well... you did have a perfectly good radial engine. But alas, you chose to put it back in the Tank instead. 😅😅

I wonder if it had the hole in the block when it was in the car and that’s why it got stripped and left to turn crap

The motor is a “Go-Devil” because it goes like the Devil. I’m working on a 41 Slat now. Just primers the drivers fender.

shorter episodes are good, keeps us up to date on the various projects without a massive time investment for you or the viewers.

And the best thing is the exchange rate of the AUD V;s the U.S.D is at an all time low & going down so rebuild parts won't be cheap. Hopefully you can find a cheap LS3 motor & manual box to drop in.

At least if you decide to fix it you know what you have.

i believe i do, im still learning these engines
@paulorchard79607 ай бұрын
Yep, valves look very fresh, maybe it was a gearbox failure and someone who had no idea thought the engine was seized? Anything is possible and there is nothing wrong with a toyota engined jeep if you want to save yourself some pain and money!😅
