Josh, I sure wish you had some friends to help you with projects. Of course with your videos, you're not entirely alone. I always try to be with my sons and their friends while they work on projects if only to be a mechanic's helper and to supply moral support. I do know you are a fully able person but it's always handy to have more hands. :) Good Luck ! I have a 1974 jeep in that condition waiting for a full rebuild also. Share the fun. hahaha :)

Having done this sort of thing before DON'T THROW THE OLD PARTS OUT UNTIL THE JOB IS FINISHED. NOTE THE WORD FINISHED. Sometimes There are the parts that aren't obtainable having been made from unobtainium. LOL Then you end up having to make them from scratch. It then becomes a real advantage having something to work from. For cutting through the welds between the fenders and radiator support panel you may have to sacrifice one or the other to get it apart. Which is the easiest to repair later on or what price is the replacement part. Always assume the parts are unobtainable and be surprised at to what is available. The most common methods, angle grinder with thin cutoff wheels, drill and chisel, or gas set. Which ever does the least damage to the parts and or cost the least to replace. Also a set of reverse twist drills help remove broken bolts, as you drill them they unwind the bolt hopefully after you have broken the head off.. I know you have another body but i would have centre punched and drilled the head of that bolt out that you went to chisel off saving the panel beneath. It all saves money as more parts you damage getting it apart the more it costs to put back together and less you have to spend on the better quality parts that do cost. Some people like to use original parts that you can sell to save some money and keep them original even if they have to rebuild them.

What I havn't told you yet is that the jeep will be in magazine shoots, calender's and will live a life of usefulness and glamour, the ranch that it's going to is used for the firearms industry to test and showcase new product. Can you imagine....my dad's old turd jeep...fixed up and a feature on the cover of a magazine! Wow....this is more of an opportunity for the jeep to live another life...not just used on our farm....but shipped to Wyoming to a "retirement village"....you'll appreciate where it's going when I show ya!

Josh - just a note to say that some of the stuff you consider garbage, other people consider parts for their original or “rat rod-type” build - and they will pay for them! In other words - consider offering the parts you don’t want to people who might want them, rather than throwing them out. Like others here have said: “it’s only original once!”

Lack of funds. I was glad to see you were going to keep it and restore it. Glad you're fixing it up bummed you're not keeping it for the farm. Well can't wait for more videos of the restoration. Try to keep the old parts as usable as possible. Even if you don't use them yourself, someone might ask about the parts and you can sell them at a good deal for them and they lay the shipping or come get the parts. This could mean more money for the rebuild fund. And use, this appears to be a rebuild, not a remodel or restoration, in the typical verbiage use in automotive restoration circles. Going to look nice, wish you could keep it or that I had pit the first and best bid in for it myself. I love the old Willys jeeps. I learned to drive in on with my grandpa. The recipient is going to be one lucky fella.
