Wilmot Perkins was for decades one of Jamaica's most popular journalists and Talk Show hosts. He was very firm on the issues of human rights and especially outspoken against police brutality and discrimination against gays. He was regarded by some as an atheist. This interview with Lloyd D'Aguilar is reflective of some of those positions.

This is the father of my university degrees. When I was young, fatherless, aimless, and needed a father figure, he did it on air for me. Listening to this man focused my mind and lead to me becoming an economist. I still miss him today.

Mutty's words are prophetic... look what happened in Tivoli Gardens during the 'Dudus debacle' in May 2010.....wanton slaughter of civilians by military and especially the police.....we are in trouble as a nation which was built on the idea of a 'plantocracy' (derived from the plantation). We need to free our selves from mental slavery and love & respect ourselves as Negro people with inalienable rights that must be protected.
