From (Jasper) Carrotts Lib in early October 1982, this rare footage shows the Flying Pickets performing a medley of 'Da doo ron ron/you've lost that loving feeling'. This footage is a vivid reminder of mine from childhood, and I can't believe it's not already available on KZbin!

Not professional singer - actor with various histories - The group's mastermind, Brian Hubbard had been teacher, steel worker, barman and chimney sweep. Supporters of socialist politics and the working man they provided a very powerful but subtle anti-Thatcher presence in the 80s. Probably the most authentic protest group of the decade. And I loved them or it.

No, this was just them getting their repertoire out there, and it worked, as they would be the Xmas No. 1 the following year!

They released cds, the group were individually talented actors too, Brian Hibbard was Welsh & a well known talented actor as well as singer and a lovely genuine guy too, the group played at the Art Centre in Wales where I worked in the 80s.
