Wilson's Bird of Paradise in Waigeo, Raja Ampat. The most colorful BOP. The blue 'helmet' is actually skin, not feathers. His feet are blue, he's got a yellow mantle on its neck and the male has got two impressive violet spiral tail feathers.
Watch how he cleares the display 'court' where he will preform his mating dance. He goes out of his way to keep his feathers clean and in best condition. The male Wilson's Bird-of-Paradise starts to perform his dance at the bottom of a branch as soon as the female sits on the same branch above him. She looks down into his light green fluorescent beak while he flashes his brilliant green fluorescent collar at her.
