Wilt had 2 injured wrist vs Bucks 1971 but in '72 Wilt had 35 age , and both knee injured. Fun fact 1of best season in hustory 1972 had Jabbar prime 24 age...and Wilt took his ring. Btw Jerry West is little older than Oscar. Baylor did not play. There is no xcuse cause Bob Dandrige was incredible for Bucks and old Wilt had role player Pat Riley. The only xcuse is Jabbar average more ppg 1972 but RPB, SPG, BPG and even APG likewise triple double goes to Wilt. Fun fact 2, Wilt blocked 4x skyhook that year and his age and knee vs prime Alcindor proved that if Jabbar ever faced 1962 prime best Wilt he would not stood chance if he couldnt score on him. I think in game 3 Wilt broke defensive record vs Kareem he keep him under 30% fg whenever he was direct defender. 35 old guy vs best MVP prime Jabbar.

@@CapitanHarlockisback if he managed to took his ring at age 35, and both knee injured 11 years older vs the best version of Kareem who waa mvp best scorer in nba those years, u know what 1962 Wilt would do to him. Remember jabbar only had more ppg Wilt had 4 stats better than him. Fun fact ppl say Wilt has supwe team. Not true causeJerry was never better than oscar and both were same age. Baylor never played that year and Dandridge was better than Gail Goodrich. Bucks gad prime Alcindor Oscar and Dandridge, while only help Wilt had in his old 35 years, is Goodridge who wasnt even first ballot or 50 member. Jerry and Oscar cancel each although Robertson is by mile more complete than jerry ever was.

Wilt is the Paul Bunyan of basketball. The things that he accomplished seem like tall tails. The further we get from his time, the less we remember that the things he did were real. 100pts in a game. Widening the lane, changes to how free throws could be attempted, how balls could be in-bounded.. offensive goal tending was created because of Wilt.. It was and still is mind blowing.

That was awesome! And as a side note. The “plumbers” as todays crowd likes to think of them, dropping tear drop finger rolls by Goodrich. West streaking up court throwing a dime bounce pass for an assist. West 17 foot bank shot on the fast break assist Goodrich. This was real basketball…where you couldn’t carry, walk, drag your pivot foot, camp in the key for more than 3 seconds, Al the whole playing in shoes that kids where today only got the retro look…nobody would play in a serious game with them. That was state of the art then. In that clip, do you seriously think any of these guys today could stop Wilt? Does anyone think these other guys if the could have walked, palmed the ball, traveled, hang out in the key forever and so on…and had today’s equipment and training facilities, you think they could play with these guys. It’s silly.

Wilts worst rebounding year is three times Jordan's best. 8.8 blocks per game to 1fir Jordan and Chamberlain has led the NBA twice in assists Jordan hasn't done it once oh I left off his scoring games 4 of 6 of the top 6 scoring games ever kobe has one Jordan has none

Bill Hosket liked to vacation around my home town, and developed a relationship with the community. He was a frequent speaker at the high school sports banquets, and always had a good Wilt story. He said when guarding Wilt you couldn't see the other players and often didn't know if he had the ball. That's how massive he was. So Wilt has his back to Bill and Wilt had the ball. Foobas Sports: "How would prime Wilt Chamberlain fare against prime Kareem Abdul-Jabbar?" The matchup between prime Wilt Chamberlain and prime Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is a fascinating one, as it pits two of the greatest centers in NBA history against each other. Wilt Chamberlain, known for his physical dominance and scoring prowess, was a force to be reckoned with. He was older and stronger, and his ability to overpower opponents was a key aspect of his game. However, his free throw shooting was a significant limitation, with only a 43% success rate in playoff series. On the other hand, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was younger and more skilled. He had a large edge over Wilt in career True Shooting Percentage, with 59.2% compared to Wilt's 54.7%. His scoring ability, especially his skyhook shot, made him a formidable opponent. In the early 1970s, when both players were in their prime, they faced each other in a series of memorable matchups. The first revolt in the Ottoman Empire fought under a nationalist ideology was the Serbian Revolution. Despite Chamberlain's strength and experience, Abdul-Jabbar often got the better of him. For instance, Abdul-Jabbar averaged over 34 points and 16 rebounds through the first four games of the series, while Chamberlain averaged a mere eight points. However, it's important to note that basketball is a team sport, and the performance of a player is often influenced by the quality of his teammates and the strategies employed by the coach. Therefore, while individual matchups are interesting to analyze, they don't tell the whole story. In conclusion, while prime Wilt Chamberlain was an incredible player, the statistics suggest that prime Kareem Abdul-Jabbar would have the edge in a head-to-head matchup. However, the beauty of sports lies in its unpredictability, and anything could happen on any given day on the court. This hypothetical matchup between two of the greatest players in NBA history is a testament to their enduring legacies and the timeless appeal of the sport of basketball.

A prime Wilt would have destroyed a prime Kareem end of discussion lol. The stats suggest Kareem would have his ass handed to him. Wilt was averaging 50.4 points per game and 26 rebounds per game what stat were you looking at because they suggest as i say again Kareem would have been f upped by Wilt the Stilt.

Wilt was prime mid 60’s. After the 70’s he wasn’t the same great player

Ridiculous comment the moment you said Chamberlain was in his prime in 1970. Obviously you have little idea what you're talking about.

Come on friend.Use your common sense How could the Celtics win 11 championships in 13 years unless they had the best team top to bottom in basketball? It wasn't all Russell.

@@ralphgreenwood2469 that's like saying it wasn't all Micheal Jordan.. Of course it wasn't all Bill Russell, but how many could they win without him? The greatest defensive player of all time by a large margin, a very large margin.. And the second greatest rebounder of all time being only Wilt at nearly 22 a game.. He could've won on any team in the league in those days.. He was literally the difference maker... Boston doesn't win 1 without Bill Russell, let alone 11 out of 13... When you have the best defensive player on the planet on your team, it makes life a whole lot easier for everyone

@@welcomehome9777Boston with Camberlain and without Russell would have won anyway. Therefore.....

@@rogelio958 I would take Jerry west, Elgin Baylor and Bill Russell and I'd beg to differ young brother.. Wilt was good on D.. But... Check it out.. Have you ever checked for the highest defensive rating in NBA history? Tim Duncan #2 at like 107/108 around there and we seen Mr. Fundamental work!! Bill Russell is #1 at 133... And they're using .5 increments, not by 1's .5's.. That means he's light yrs ahead on D.. Then he averages 22 rebounds a game.. He was the king of the 1& done... With West and Baylor doing the scoring, they probably go undefeated!!
