I could imagine a scenario where Wily completes Zero and activates him, but Zero's behavior is so ridiculously aggressive and violent that he is uncontrollable. Dr. Wily has no choice but to send out every Robot Master in his possession to stop him, including the Yellow Devil and the Mecha Dragon and even copies of the Robot Masters he stole from Dr. Light and Dr. Cain. Zero destroys all of them, including Enker, Punk, Ballade, along with a relentless battle against Bass and Treble. Finally, he tries to destroy his own creator, but Wily just about manages to capture and trap him in one of his Wily Machines, at the expense of every one of his other creations and and the near destruction of his secret base. Dr. Wily manages t deactivate Zero and puts him in storage so he can further study him and correct his flawed and relentlessly violent programming. He never gets the chance to, but his legacy survives through Zero and the Maverick Virus. His malicious intent for world domination and superiority survives through the Sigma Virus which was manifested through the Maverick Virus fusing to Sigma's system. Ultimately, the virus was Wily's most evil achievement after Zero.

This sounds cool but the problem is all of that wouldnt be a match for Zero, reploids including Maverick Hunter Sigma were designs far more advanced that robot masters and even those didnt stand a chance against Zero, the only ones that would somewhat fare better would be Proto Man, Bass and Megaman and given Willy's statements about Zero even they wouldnt be enough to handle Zero, it took X ; Light's greatest creation just to end in a draw against Zero.

Personally, I think the difference between what Wily designed Zero to be and what he ended up becoming is what makes Zero so awesome as a character. He's an autonomous robot who was built to destroy the world, but he uses his autonomy to save the world he was meant to destroy instead. I'm probably the only one that has read this far into things, but to me Dr. Weil is kind of like a spiritual successor to Dr. Wily who created Zero, which makes Zero's final act one giant middle finger to his creator. I like to think that, after countless failed attempts to rule the world, Dr. Wily in his later years decided to destroy it instead and designed Zero and the Zero virus for that purpose. Dr. Weil and Omega are more or less the same way in terms of saying, "If I can't rule the world, then I'll destroy it." However, until the very end, Zero decides he's not their puppet and won't let them have their way. At the end of MMZ3, Zero destroys Omega, who was inhabiting his original body and was designed by Dr. Weil to be a mindless killing machine, just like Dr. Wily had designed Zero to be as host to the Zero virus. In destroying him, Zero uses his autonomy and free will as a Reploid (the defining feature of Reploids compared to earlier robots) to denounce the purpose for which he was created and rid the world of his original body that Wily built for that purpose. It's like saying to Wily, "I decide what I live for, not you." Then, at the end of MMZ4, Zero uses his final act to go a step further. He breaks the first law of robotics and kills Weil, who may as well be the reincarnation of Wily, in order to save Ciel and everyone else. On the one hand, this is an acknowledgement that Reploids, with their human-like intelligence, free will, and autonomy, are basically no different from humans outside of the mechanics of their bodies, so the laws of robotics no longer matter. More importantly, it's about the closest he could come to killing Wily himself considering Wily has been dead for centuries. This time, the message is, "I'm no hero of justice, but if you threaten those I care about, I don't care WHO you are. Destruction-crazed madmen like you are the ones who need to die, and I WILL protect them from your pointless destruction even if it costs me my life."

And then you consider that Sigma essentially forcing Zero to kill Colonel and Iris in X4, and then fight X in X5, is pretty much Wily saying "Oh, so you won't follow my orders! Fine. I'll just keep making you destroy your friends until you DO!"

I must admit, I was intrigued how well the two themes went together in the first one, and even more pleasantly surprised by this one. I even caught a bit of Zero's intro stage from X4 and X5's X vs. Zero theme in there this time on top of the more dominant X2 theme and MM2's Wily stage 1.

***** Well, I myself prefer Zero's original design, I think Zero's MMZ design makes him look a little more human as opposed to robotic. Thus making him a tiny bit more relatable. Still, they made him look way to childish and even almost feminine to suit my tastes. The MMZ art style in general gives girly proportions to every character, female or not.

Imagine this: Zero cutting, blasting, and destroying hoards of mindless droids. He makes it to the boss door, here stands Bass and treble ready to fight, Zero wins and bass seeks to repair treble. Wily stops him and forces bass to continue fighting, Zero defeats him again but this times shuts off bass and sends treble and bass back to maverick hunter hq. He advances to wily with a refined resolve, zero and wily finally meet face to face, except wily instead of flesh is now mechanical, seeking to live past his time, causing chaos from behind the scenes, never failing to be the root of it all. In the final battle zero defeats wily only to be told the mad doctor seems to have transferred his mind, regardless zero heads back to base, preparing to meet with x and axl about their missions and to ensure that wily doesn't have power over those affected, especially his own brother...

People who bought Megaman 9 and 10 and then proclaim them to be the best Megaman games of all times need their brains checked. Megaman 9's difficulty was due to hidden traps, and it had good graphics (FOR 1985!). Going back to 8-bit just to cash-in on fan-nostalgia is called being unoriginal and shallow. The only good thing about it was the music.
