"I'm just here to have fun" and take some heads off! I enjoyed watching you race. Tell Tanner to use a propane torch to anneal the ends before he flares them. Some line material is too hard to get a good flare. Annealing softens the metal so it will conform easier. When you get them formed, and cut to length, you torch the ends til they just start to rose color and let them cool. Forming is easy peasy then. Don"t quench them in water or anything to cool them fast, that will harden them again. They need to cool slowly.

Happy birthday Bill! The brake line issue is not y’all’s failure by ineptitude! The quality control and materials being used these days is crap! I’ve heard quite a few people complain and it seems the issue is hardness of the lines. They used to be just right and even old school flare tools got the job done. A few have found that heating the line b4 flaring it fixes this problem!
@somethinglikeawelder42504 ай бұрын
It’s feels good to just drop in on em, in something you don’t drive everyday and prove to yourself along with the youngsters, that you can still get it done. Way to go, it’s obvious to everyone where the boys get their talent. I’m about to be 51 also. Still racing every chance I get.

Bucko not understanding you need thread sealant on all pipe threads was hilarious. HAHAHA Custom brake lines take some finesse for sure and some folks just can't handle that double flaring technique. Hopefully Bucko understands that any pipe thread needs sealant now. Great episode and all you guys are amazing and full of character.

Happy Birthday Billy Boy. You sir are a winner. You got me beat on grey hair at 57. 2 months from 58. Watching you all allows me to forget about all the fruit loops out there these day's. Even if it is only 40 minutes or less. When we watch the news or spend to much time on social media it makes us start to lose hope. No Vickie at the end felt so different. A man gets used to a certain flow and when that changes were left looking around with a look of surprise on our face. You and yours have a great one.

Teflon tape or liquid teflon on every pipe type threaded fitting (just keep the tape or dope back from the ends of the fittings period). You cannot expect the jack of all trades and Bucko certainly is...to remember everything under the sun. What is a gallon or 2 of brake fluid between friends, as long as he kept it off your automobile paint and your shop floor that is.

Hey bill I’m not sure why all your brake lines are leaking but I have found when making my own brake lines and making all the flare fittings when I put the lines together you really have to tighten them down really good to almost stripping them out!! I have definitely gotten leaky lines to quite leaking after tightening them down and then go back through after all put together and retighten them up and this helps tighten the flared fittings up and not leak!!! Hopefully this helps you out!!!!

You might want to check the wall thickness on that brake line tubing if you are using Nicopp line. One side of the line was thicker than the other and it would cause the flare to look like it was favoring one side. I had some from JEGS that gave me all kinds of problems and sent it back to them. I switched to American made stainless tubing and those problems went away.
