I see many people upset about my comment about the possibility of the show being fixed because they needed a round three to continue the show. I would've said this no matter how the show went, I’m just genuinely commenting on how show business works and I said it may be a possibility that it was fixed. I don’t think it’s fixed I was just speaking my mind. I gave WINNER their credit and said they deserved to win I just said I liked both songs. I’ve already thought about taking this part out but I left it because I’m gonna be genuine and talk to you like I would my best friend on the couch, that’s the vibe I want from my channel. I know many people know my intentions but this comment is for the ones that don't because I don't want you to think I'm delegitimizing WINNER's win here. They found their sound this battle & I do think that Smile Again has more replay value than Winnin!

Agree because to this day I still believe and still stand firm that no matter who did better TEAM A is going to debut first and TEAM B is already planned for Mix and Match! (It’s another story if they knew it which I doubt) but that’s how reality show works. I don’t see any way YG would disband TEAM B. They are too damn good to be dropped out. It’s all a marketing strategy. To promote both groups. YG damn sure both teams are already ready to debut he just needed to push it a little further through the shows. Not saying they manipulate the votes but probably how they edit the whole show to appeal to the audience. Just wanna add to this that my personal preference has always been TEAM B. They just have that energy when they are on stage. They are fearless and so fun to watch. Super talented and underrated.

keep in mind ikon self compose song was finalized few hour before the show... the lyric is a mess, some parts is just words to fit the beat/melody... smile again is a song Yoon made because he sees them (team A & B) losing smile lately & he want them all to smile again...

Bobby was like 17 and BI was 16 here and they alr composed a song like that. Thats why bobby and BI duo is scary, one is the only idol winner of smtm and the other is the only idol winner of melon songwriter award. i love both teams but what caught my attention are: 1. Team A really highlighted all of their members.. Everyone has their own moment to shine. 2. Team A lyrics are relatable to the General Public (the winner depends in GP's vote) 3. Team A showed better teamwork in this battle.. even though KSY mainly composed the song, from lyrics to arrangement, it is a collective effort. 4. Team A finally found their own color. their performances before were not as good as these 3 last performances maybe because they were just trying to fit in to the YG's main genre which is HipHop.. But at the end of the day, WINKON is fireeeeee!!

I was a Team B supporter from the start of the show because of their teamwork, BI's leadership and just their overall vibe, but this battle is what made me really see Team A's potential. Smile Again is really the first time Seungyoon composed songs that absolutely fit his members, have a great message and are memorable but also different from everything else out there. To me it really felt like the showpiece for what Winner had to offer the world and they have indeed continued in that vein today. I am still iKON-biased but I love Winner too and Smile Again is a bit part of it. I would say iKON found their sound a lot more in Mix and Match, hope you'll watch that too!

Smile Again is a song they're singing for each other. I guess you can take it romantically but it's actually written to console the individual members having lost a lot of times before this song. 😭 I was at the time having a hard time at the time this came out. Struggling with self-worth and things like that. I'm telling you, this song picked me right back up to start finding my worth again. That's how I know I was gonna be a stan whether they became WINNER or not.

It’s all about preference and everybody is different when it comes the musical taste. At that time, Team A was more contemporary/rock pop/pop with a little hip hop and calm in a way. Even their dance/choreograph has tones of lyrical/theatrics and chill vibe. While of course IKON are very youthful, playful, and hip hop. But like you said, we all know Team B strength is dance, hip hop, and being youthful and powerful. We’ve seen that in the past battles and so I agree...they didn’t show me anything new and either way they still did great. It just wasn’t a performance or battle that WOW’ed me at all. As opposed to WINNER, who left this battle very personal and intimate. I loved the idea of making “Officially Missing You” and missing your past self..when you were ambitious, naive, and YOUNG. The dance part even though Team A was creative, I still think Team B are stronger dancers. But if you asked me to choose the 3rd battle... it’s definitely Team A with “Smile Again” because of the meaning behind it. Yoon composed this song because he noticed the members losing their faith and smiles after losing battles. He wanted to see his team SMILE AGAIN and enjoy music and being on stage again. He explained it briefly in this episode and the lyrics I felt is more about THEM as a group.. not about a significant other. I was going through a rough time when I was watching this in real time. So when I heard this song, it gave me so much comfort.. I felt that Team A was singing to me and cheering me up. I think that was the overall message and purpose as to why Yoon composed the song.. not only for themselves..but for the many people who has lost their smile and passion. So I understand why “Smile Again” left a huge impression on the judges for this battle. It was that self composed song score that made Team A win overall in this battle. So we have to give props to them cuz they really did work hard and you can tell that they figured out their color as a group.. their style and the kind of group they want to be in the future. They seriously SHOWED UP when it was needed tbh. Anyways, I also have to give a lot of props to Team B cuz it’s definitely NOT easy having to change a song. They also worked so hard and sleepless nights to come up with something. It sounded great and all, but like I said.. it’s something they I expected from them. They’re just that talented and charismatic like that you know? I’ve been saying this ever since you guys started reacting to WIN. It was ALWAYS a close competition between the two teams.. there was not a clear decision tbh. Even though the show airing, Team B was gaining more and more fans over time and so has Team A...but especially by the time the final episode happened. The fan ratio and votes was literally 1- 2% difference between Team A and Team B...again it was preference and Team A became WINNER. I wouldn’t have it any other way tbh. We wouldn’t have gotten IKON with Chanwoo in Mix & Match. At the end of the day, everything was meant to be for both teams. I don’t understand why people still dwell and complain about WIN. Do you guys NOT understand the phrase EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON? WINNER and IKON both debuted and until now.. has given us wonderful and amazing music for the past 7 years. Both groups went through so much BS and losing a member and having to re-adjust and comeback stronger from that. Both groups have accomplished so many things with their music. Both groups are known for their talent in writing music and has many accolades in terms of MUSIC. Some of y’all that still comment about how things were so unfair or still comparing the groups or shading other groups needs to STOP. Leave that BS in 2013!! We’re approaching 2021 for crying out loud. It’s not good to hold grudges especially when there shouldn’t be any grudges at all. MOVE ON GUYS.. LET IT GO.. LEAVE IT IN THE PAST.

It pisses me off they those fandom wars and toxic fans ruined any success or future collaboration like MOBB. Yes I’m thankful Bobby was featured in Mino’s solo comeback album. But we know it was all ideas from Mino and Bobby..NOT management. It was those same toxic fans who complained and riot about that WINKON DIMENSION FILM PROJECT. I was so hyped when I saw the teaser pics and trailer, BUT nothing ever happened. What was that about? Was there going to be some kind of collaboration or concert? Smile Again did really well in Korean Music Charts, KSY is an amazing writer - he has written the vast majority of Winner's songs along with Minho, Hoony and Taehyun when he was there. In this episode, I think that Team A deserved the win - iKON had a bad first song to edit (baby) in my opinion, through no fault of their own, and whilst their dancing was lit as always, for the self composed Team A did a song with a pretty strong emotional attachment, whereas Team B's seemed almost a bit shallow by comparison (probs just due to not enough time to properly rewrite.)

Seeing again this episode made me feel bad tho, iKON really worked so hard, expecially for the dance stage and the original song stage. For the dance stage they practiced a lot of acrobathic and hard things to do, for the original song stage they had like 7 hours to fix the song and know it perfectly. They hadn't got time for more practice and they didn't sleep, that it's the most important part before a performance (and I personally know how that feels). It's just so frustrating. It feels uneven.

I always thought that narrative-wise, this competition has been very unfair to Team B. Their story was laid out as if it didn’t have any substance, just little boys playing around. But regardless, I still think Team A wins this episode. They’ve showed so much creativity and seemed to have finally found their music. Team B might have more wins and more Wow moments in this competition (Climax still slapping upto this date). But their members were not yet highlighted. People only know triple Kim (but more on DoubleB). Unlike Team A who has established a name for each of their members. Team B losing this battle has been a wake up call tho, esp on the self-composed songs part. This is why iKON always produce quality music. Hanbin pulling up an all-nighter, always, just so he can write songs that will always make people smile and cry. One of the biggest dreams of being a song writer. Which is what yoon also acknowledged. I hope you guys will also watch Mix & Match after this. Team B’s teamwork might’ve been amazing in WIN but it becomes far more greater in M&M. And Man! That is why I can’t stan anyone else other than iKON.

Both groups have their own strengths. Not all groups are perfect that is why they continuously improve on their own way. Let's give credits to the hard work of these two groups. I'm watching this at 3AM and honestly, it's worth it. Love all your input about it, probably the best reaction I've seen of this show. First of, Team A won this round, no doubt. Officially Missing You and Smile Again is my favorite stage from TEAM A on this whole show! But if you weigh all factors, it's true YG seems to put TEAM B off of their game... I don't even have anything against 'baby' but to put that against OMY is just, weird. It's on two different levels. If he really wanted harmony, it's literally not the song for that. Also, to change the song overnight just because it's too much english is another bs. It's a composition BATTLE. If it's bad(which I think is not the case) then he still should've just let them perform it anyway. It's a COMPETITION and if that's what they have prepared for it, then so be it, it's not like he'll promote whatever they come up to.. it's made literally for that round. TEAM B strength comes from their energy and confidence in stage, which comes from perfecting it over time, getting them to change it a day before is a dick move and it throws them off. what's worst is that they needed iv drips just to keep going smh. but I get it.. team a hasn't won any round at this point and this is a needed turnaround. You guys need to watch MIX and MATCH after that. It’s another survival show but just for iKON, as you see they are just 6 members here. But when they start their survival the next year there 3 more new trainees competing to be in the group, one of them it’s the winner one which is Chanwoo, the maknae of iKON. U guys need to check it out it’s even more interesting than win, in my opinion. cause the boys are better on their skills.

Team A's biggest strength during WIN was that the burden/ responsiblity for their overall performances were mostly shared unlike with Team B that heavily relied on DoubleB. Both teams are talented but Team A had more maturity and creativity when making their performances. I will always say that Team B are the better dancers but vocal-wise, they were weak against Team A. Junhoe had potential, but TeamB did not really tap on it because they tend to focus on rapping/hiphop. With the rappers, both team are equally interesting. You see growth and difference in Team A with each performances but with Team B, you can say its a good one but not special/different enough from their previous performances. with the editing and even during performances with TeamA you get to see each members strength/ weaknesses. With TeamB, most of the focus are on either B.I, DoubleB or Triple Kim, not much on the other 3.

Junhoe come to YG as a dancer. (Junhoe himself once admit he didnt really like singing, and only love dancing. Tho now he love singing) Donghyuk come to YG as rapper, not as vocalist. Yunhyeong auditioned in YG as an actor, not as an idol. Thus probably why their vocal kinda weak back then. Having hiphop as their main genre is nothing to do with their vocal ability pls. vocal line have their own vocal training. And all of them did amazing as people who originally not into singing. THATS THE GROWTH. You forget the fact that WIN is not the begin of their journey. Once WIN aired, they already know what they want do, they didnt seems lost nor shaken at all from ep 1-6, and keep winning the battle. You see them shaken in this episode only, and you dismiss their effort from ep 1. hahaha Not to mention theyre dont dwell too much in feeling of being defeated, and show us amazing performance in final battle.

The reason Winner won the show was: 1. The korean public really liked Team A more, they were more popular, and even to this day Winner is more popular in SK because they appeal not only to Inseos but the general public. Always charting high on SK charts, and their brand value is mostly in Top 10 or 15. 2. Seungyoon in this battle showed YG that he can compose good music, but most important, unique music. The kind of songs that you hear and you think of Winner. And being unique, having your own color is one of the most important talents in YG. 3. Team B was still young. They had so much potential, and being in YG a few more years training was all they needed to be perfect for debut. Team A couldn't wait. And they were alteady good enough.

Noo don't even go that round of saying things were fixed,, like I know what you mean but saying stuff like that really diminishes Team A's effort and talent during this battle. And it gives me major flashbacks to watching this show live as it came out and each week Aces (team A fans) and Bgolds (team B fans) would fight and make conspiracy theories, and it was just a horrible time back then.

Rewatching this episode reminds me of how Rosie mentioned in LUTS how she sort of misses the trainee days when they were only surrounded by music. And I do believe that there's something about trainees still being trainees making them even shine brighter than the debuted/established professional musicians on stage sometimes. Can't wait for the final two episodes.

I thought it was pretty clear that Yang sabotaged Team B big-time when he gave them Baby, which is a tough song to do anything with, then made them re-write their original song at the last minute. Team A already had the advantage of being better known and this episode really clinched the competition for them.

I don't think Team A winning this battle was fixed?? They obviously deserved to win, please don't underestimate them just because you like more hip hop. since their rendition of Missing You but the judges were really out of their minds to not give them a more higher points and the Composition category was really deserved for Team A to win, the whole production was so well done, theme, lyrics, melody, part distribution, that the same YG wanted to promote the song. This battle winning by them was truly deserved.

@45:25 You know why he said that? It's because the Korean audience is hard on musicians who make a lot of English lyrics. Koreans are such a difficult audience to please, there's been an artist that was banned on TV just for speaking English a lot. I'm just glad that their audience is starting to open up. This is why YG takes their artist internationally, because of their style and music preference. Crazy huh..

Well actually I don't think any of the battle is fixed because the score by the judges simply doesnt count. Only the viewers vote can affect the result. So winning or losing the stage itself technically does not matter at all. and if my memories were correct. Team A actually won all the viewer votes during the broadcasting season. ( I rememberd these cause those were the good old days when TA fans and TB fans were having these epic fandom wars 😂😂😂😂😂 One of the main reason why I was afraid of fully investing my emotions for the show at the time. It was soooooo brutal. But I am so happy that TB also got to debut as ikon and now ikonic and IC are having rather close, cousin like relationship ) Just checked the rules. the viewer votes for the first and two battles each counts as 20% which made the third vote (unlike first two, viewers can only vote during the live broadcast of the final battle. So people can only vote within that two hours) weights as 60%. Although TA won the first two viewer votes, their percentage were very close (the difference were just about 0.52% during the second battle) So it basically is all up to how viewers vote for the final battle.
