Winchester 9422 XTR 22

Today I do some shooting with a great little 22 rifle. This rifle has been in my for about 4 decades now. I have a lot of great memories with gun. I hope the generations to come with enjoy this rifle as much as I have. Thanks for watching Please subscribe

My lever .22 is a Marlin 39A from 1994. My buddy bought the Winchester 9422 the same day. We are both still very happy with our choices.

I have one in .22 Magnum and it has ridden a great deal in a saddle scabbard. Finish is a bit worn but it’s a real shooter!

Sounds like mine , always reliable carried in my scabbard shows it’s been used , I put a Williams peep on it ! 👍

They are scarce as hens teeth. Back in 1983 a friend of mine that I was in the National Guard with had the exact same rifle that you have. That prompted me to want one but couldn’t find one, so I bought a Browning BL 22 grade II. I wasn’t disappointed. We hunted rabbits with them too.

The browning 22 are great too. They are a bit small for me but great rifles

Hi Chris the gun laws here in Ireland are fairly strict shot guns and bolt action rifles up to 308 caliber can be licensed if you have a valid reason . Centerfire pistols cannot be licensed .22lr pistols can be obtained if you again have a valid reason you can see where this going not very easy to own firearms god bless you and your family keep the videos coming tks

Hi Chris, i know this is an older video but had to tell you that's a great little rifle you have there. Enjoyed hearing the history on it too. I picked up the new Ruger/Marlin model 94 last week, in 357/38. It looks awesome, haven't had a chance to take her for a test run yet.

Thanks Russ This Winchester means more to me than any other gun I have. I gave it to my son when he was 11, 14 years ago. He treats it with the most respect. I hope he has a son to give it to. Thanks for your support. Interesting thing KZbin has shut my other channel down. 10 cow ranch because I showed the process of branding calves. I am to keep posting videos on both channels. I hope to get back in the good graces with KZbin .

I just recently got one from my father in law after he passed. It is in excellent condition. I've never seen a stock so pretty and the gloss on it. It was built in 80 according to the serial. Looking forward to shooting it here before long. Thank you for sharing your story. New subscriber!

I bought a 45 70 guide gun marlin 5 years ago. Again an excellent product. No glitches, the stock fits snug to the receiver like it should. Just a "Blast" to shoot, a very powerful hard hitting rifle easy to store and carry. I wouldn't take anything for it, at least at this point.

I’ve had my eye out for a old marlin 20 inch barrel 4570 but I don’t think I’ve ever seen one. They’ve certainly went up in price over the last few years but they are great guns. Thanks for the comment. Thanks for watching.

I really enjoyed your story around this gun and hopefully it will remain in your family for a long time. Many years ago when we lived in west Texas I bought a 9422M XTR to hunt jack rabbits and eventually sold it when moving to south Texas. Well the other day a 9422 XTR LR came in on trade at my LGS and it will be coming home with me shortly. Not that I need another 22, but it is just a classic rifle.

I found a XTR 22mag on a used gun rack many years ago for $500 in 95% condition. Probably 98%. Still have it and a good squirrel rifle.

Mine is a plain model 9422 ,parents gave it to me for my 12 birthday,in my mid twenties I found a 9422M and got it for 180 dollars at a pawn/gun store and love them both!👍🏽😀❤️🇺🇸 PS. 6 years ago I got another 9422 from a friend (older) for $400 dollars.

Not very accurate, I have a daisy 22 rifle that can almost drill a quarter at 30 yards and when I bought it at Walmart it was $39.95. Now of course I was shooting with a scope. I have a Winchester 22 magnum and have had it for about 46 years and it hasn't had a box of shells shot through it, I still have it and still looks new. Wouldn't care to have another one. Happy shooting.
