Here's something that I learned about winches. The rating on the winch is only for the first two layers of cable on the drum. On the 3rd layer, the winch capacity decreases to about 80% of the rated capacity. By the 5th layer, the capacity is down to about 60%. It has to do with the mechanical advantage of a smaller diameter drum over a larger diameter drum..

Ahhh...that's a poison oak vine. That stuff is vicious. It gets on everything and transfers to other clothes when you wash. Gain and All are the only two detergents that dissolve the oil of poison oak or ivy out of fabric.

Good to know but it definitely won’t be ALL, my wife switched from ERA to ALL one time and never said anything to me, needless to say I had a crazy reaction to it and my ass broke out in the worlds worst rash, I thought I had cancer of the bung hole.... 🤣

Do you recommend a 2000 lb or a 3000 lb warn winch for a Honda Foreman 500?

Jake Bishop you could do either one. If you have a lot of extras on the machine that makes it real heavy then you should probably go 3,000 or 3,500...
