Does he know that Gene C. Smith began the wind ensemble concept at Baylor in 1969 to 1972? This was followed by Dick Floyd who flourished the ensemble to world acclaim from 1973 to the late 1980's, this leadership progressed to Michael Haithcock and many others. Amazing how far the ensemble has come over its 55 year history.
