Tips on winding toroids. Run your wire halfway through the toroid. Then wind half the turns one way and the other half the other way. Also, if you have a lot of of turns to wind, do them in groups of three or five turns turns then a space then another group. It'll be easier to count to 25 or 35 turns that way. When you're done, THEN spread them out. All in all, your videos are really fun to watch. Keep up the good work! 72 de William, k6whp

Thanks for the kind words William - I do share your exact tip on grouping windings in other videos -you're spot on there! All tips are great!

And to wick out parts, add wet flux to old solder wick and works great. Your tip on adding solder to wick out a hole is spot on! Also, dental picks are your friends to open the hole. OK, I'll butt out now, Steve.

I'll likely be soldering up a PA kit soon because I needed an AGC module for my QCX mini and wanted to make the $20 shipping more worth it. I would have done the QDX but the shipment would have been delayed to the end of the month so I decided to wait on that one.

That's how he gets ya - the amp was so "affordable" that I couldn't resist

@@temporarilyoffline Hans really knows how to give you a bang for your buck. The QCX is the cheapest transceiver that I own and the only rig that can beat it in performance is 14 times the cost (my ic-705)

You can twist the wires by just twisting at the end. The twists will magically distribute themselves along the length of wire, so you keep twisting until it's to your liking. No need to start at one end and move your hand toward the other end.

Thank you for going over some of your technique. Whether I build this or not it is good to learn for other projects. Robert de KD4YDC

It's been a big help. Got mine for $4 from Ali express - but very easy to make.
