This is true. Out of all of the bosses, this is the only one I regularly seek out to fight in the depths. Sometimes I feel up for a Queen Gibdo every now and then, but if I see Colgera, i jump in without a second thought, it sometimes I’ll just go to fight Colgera because it’s so fun.

Lmfao that bossfight was an awful mess of juggling the camera, being blinded by giant light beams and having to run over to a friendly npc who is hellbent on running away from you only for her to get stunned by a tornado or for the arrow to not actually cause a lightning strike half the time. Personally, I found it to be my least favorite bossfight in any game I’ve played in years. Felt horribly designed in an otherwise phenomenal game - which sucks because I think her design looked fantastic.

I was let down by how easy colgera was, felt like the thing wasn't even trying to attack me or defend itself. Can't say I liked the actual gohma fight in this. Of all of the fights that's the only one I felt I was sitting there waiting for my ally's cool down...

The entire soundtrack revolving around the Wind Temple is insane. The journey up to the Wind Temple has amazing music, and you finish the quest with an amazing boss theme. It’s just too epic. I was at a loss of words for the entire Wind Temple experience.

Nothing will ever compare to the feeling of diving through the last weak point of this boss after dodging the ice spines shot out at you as the chorus of all the deceased Rito sing the song of their people. For the first time in decades, I felt like a hero.

I was kicking myself later because I killed it under 2 minutes before the OST could really kick in the first time. Thankfully there's a way to hear it again in-game which cemented it as one of my favourite boss tracks in the series.

@@solgaleo3533 i did them from right to left, so it was my 3rd. The most difficult fights in order would be the 1) Gerudo 2) Zora 3) Goron 4) Rito Zora might be a bit higher up but it was my first and I was new to zelda as a franchise so i had to learn most of it as a new player.

I ran out of arrows right before the last hit. In a moment of calm during all the panic I swapped to my biggoron sword and swung down on him while in the air. The attack was so well timed with one of the crescendos in the last phase, The connection shattered on impact and severed the last weak point in one swoop, like it was a scene from an action movie. The moment was very impactful, its been ages since I have come across a boss that will actually live rent free in my head. It was not until a couple days later I learned you can actually dive through the points too.

The journey to the temple, the Wind Temple itself and the boss are all one big love letter for the Wind Waker fans. Might have been the first temple and easy for many, but it was definitely memorable for the scenery, environment and callbacks with the soundtrack!

I discovered the "dive-through-the-weak-spot" mechanic by accident! We were down to the last hit on Colgera, and it seemed fitting to give Tulin the last shot, so we dove for it together. I kept waiting and waiting for him to take the shot, but he didn't. Then we smashed through the weak spot together, face first. It was AWESOME!

Everyones all about the dive through the weak spots, but hear me out- dropping down, just out of harms way as Colgera appears underneath you. Then hitting that bullet time while youre horizontal, and unleashing arrows on the weak spots as they pass you. That felt just as epic

Defeating it does give you a Colgera Jaw, but the material is too big to put in your inventory, and it does NOT count as a bone material (its power will "not" be boosted by the Bone Proficiency set bonus).

I can't think of a single boss in the entire franchise that I enjoyed as much as this one. Going in blind, I had no clue you could shoot arrows at it's underside. I just instinctively faught it by diving, and it was easily one of the coolest, most exciting fights I've experienced in the -entire- Legend of Zelda library. I'm so glad this game came out as good as it did.

See, I instinctively used arrows on the weak point, as they had given you lots of arrows in the dungeon and Tulin had a bow. I only learned later through somebody else playing that you can dive, and used that knowledge when I saw Colgera again in the depths.

This is my favorite theme in TOTK!!! I thought none of the Rito people remembered Revali because the divine beast was gone, and there were no statues or stone monuments for Revali in the village. I know I was wrong when I heard the Rito song in the boss fight. Revali's spirit lives in every Rito, and every one of them, including those young Rito, can be a great warrior just like him to fight against Ganondorf and protect their tribe!

Yeah, it's easy, but the whole setting of you fighting it so height up the air with sky ark under you and with this theme blasting ( especially the last part when the choir kicks in) it makes you feel epic. I genuinely love how the Rito village's leitmotif (Roost Island, I think?) knocks it out of the park! The meek melody present in the snowed in village, like a weak voice in a storm, swells up for you during the fight. It's as if the whole Rito people were rooting for you to defeat the monstrosity that brought it to its knees.

Actually this very much did not live up to my expectations that it would sound anything like the Molgera theme. Besides using a recorder for the lead instrument, the two themes have nothing in common melodically, harmonically, or rhythmically. They even have vastly different tempos. Don’t get me wrong, this is a fantastic piece, but when I saw the name “Colgera” I was really hoping for a musical reference that wasn’t just Dragonroost again.

I LOOOVEE the musical references in this theme. The most "obvious" one is the big epic phrase during the chorus, with the voices. It's played in the Rito Village theme in BotW. The first time it hits with just the voices is simply heartbreaking. Then the second times hits, with the high flutes joining as if the Ritos were just crying to cheer you up, it's just SOOOO EPIIC. Relistening to it brings a tear to my eye. Another one is the ostinato figure (the four notes going up repeating), which are the same as in the Attack on Vah Medoh theme ! It really ties the "attack on a big mean flying thing" togheter. (You can hear it alone at 11:16). I honestly liked the Ritos and Revali's quest in BotW, so it meant a lot to hear it again.

I love this for so many reasons. First, it takes a lot of the same elements from the ascent to the wind temple which makes for great continuity. The ascent was so epic in its own right. It’s like slowly getting closer and closer to a spooky noise as the stakes increase. Second, all the wind instruments in the theme are a great touch to the wind temple. Third, there are several nods to past theme songs from prior games. It’s all meaningfully well thought out fan service and we’re here for it.

Especially when you think of it, perhaps Revali was once like Tulin, thinking he could do everything on his own. But Link changed Tulin. He showed him how high he could soar with the support of his friends and comrades, and imo, surpassed Revali.

Despite it being arguably one of the easier bosses the sheer size of it and terror this invoked in me was insane, I was literally on the edge of my seat screaming for my life when it sent out like 7 different tornados while flying up from below and only dodging it's mouth by an inch. And don't even get me started on when I went down to the depths in the Hebra region only for Colgera to fly out of the darkness right at me as the boss music kicked in.

This is by far the best Boss music in the game in my opinion. I don't know why but i don't remember hearing the other bosses music while fighting them, i was just too focus on beating them that i never heard the battle theme of the others. I'll need to pay better attention next time i fight them.

@@minecrafter3448 Eh it didn't have that hype factor in the execution, that's more what we talking about here I think. Like with Calamity Ganon I just didn't feel that hyped while doing the fight. It had hype leading up to it but the experience just wasn't it. Comparatively, the music and diving through Colgera to do damage got me actively hyped during the fight because it felt incredibly cool in the moment.

I went for the belly, it never occurred to me that there was any other way. I heard the whole thing, because it took me longer than probably necessary to get that one down, because the camera was all over the place for this boss. 😂 Not because I’ve forgotten how challenging TLoZ bosses can be. Really. X,D I loved the Rito theme, though. Even if someone else had to point that out first, because I was so stressed during that boss fight I couldn’t even concentrate on those things.

I'll be honest. I died to this boss when it was one hit away from dying because I walked in with low hp and didn't take the tornado warnings seriously. So always beware of a tornado warning, whether its in a game or in real life. On the bright side tho, I got to fight it again because of that.

It was sad no Rito mentioned Revali or anything of the sort in the game. But his spirit lives on within the music. He was the price of the Rito and it’s so heartwarming hearing his themes in both the Wind Temple Dungeon theme and Colgera fight.

There's so many nods to Wind Waker In botw and totk and Nintendo SHOULD be proud. WW was monumental. It was hated at first and then everyone played it and enjoyed the hell out of it. The music is the best to some from Nintendo from a Zelda game and a lot of those themes hold a special place in people's minds and hearts. The Dragon Roost Island nod in botw and totk and the nod to Molgera in this theme. It's so good! Nintendo knows what we love.

I liked how the music changes each time you damage Colgera. But when I first fought the boss, I was under the impression that I had to fire arrows that were fused with Fire Fruits at the weak spots; a tactic that's more effective if you have any of the Lynel Bows by your side.

Ok so I’m here for like, the third time and I’m convinced that the flute that leads with the main melody of þe boss is 100 percent Tulin! French Horn is Link (bc he’s a hero, naturally) and Tulin is a flute in the melody. I like to believe Link was pure support in the canon of this boss fight and it was Tulin that was mainly fighting the boss.

It's been two months, and I can't get this song out of my head. The use of wind instruments here is absolutely genius and the inclusion of Dragon Roost Island/Rito Village's theme is the cherry on top! The energy makes me feel like the wind is dancing around me as I glide around Colgera, and it's a thrill that I don't seem to get from the other bosses. Sometimes, Zelda music can feel like an Easter egg hunt, and not in a good way. They’ll just throw together a theme with a reference or two to other titles and call it a day. But THIS… this is a true love letter to the songs that inspired it. The way they save that immaculate chorus of Dragon Roost till the end, mixing in hints of Molgera along the way… it’s pure gold. Already on my top 10 list for Zelda songs for sure.

This is the only boss battle that I wish hadn't ended as early as it did. The rush of adrenaline from diving through each segment, paired with one of the most epic boss themes I've heard in years. Most bosses test your skill at the game, and this one did, to an extent. But at the end of the day TotK is a game about adventure. You're a legendary knight, on an adventure to explore the world and defeat the demon king. This spirit of adventure is captured perfectly in Colgera's theme. Sometimes melancholic, sometimes joyful, always pushing you onwards. Urging you to finish the battle, and to keep moving onward from there. It's such a simple melody, but done so flawlessly that my adrenaline was pumping even though it was a rather easy boss. When I replay TotK, a large part of the reason why I'll begin anew is for this boss fight.

It's funny that the phases in this order frames the battle differently. Where as the in game order reflects the 2 phase battle, this one's more like a single intro -> significant struggle -> big turnabout to victory. I'm glad both orderings are being kept 😊

I first heard this theme last night and thought it was epic. Then the melody from molgera came in which is my favorite music from any zelda game to date and I almost shed a tear. This whole theme is so ridiculous and the amount of phases composed for one fight that lasts about 10 minutes. I have only done one temple so far but this was such a step up over the complaints that I had with breath of the wild. This whole segment reminded me of the classic pre botw formula and I couldnt be happier because although I am in the minority. I never wanted zelda to change, botw to me barely even felt like a zelda game, people got bored of the the formula but for me personally, that forumla is what I went to zelda for and why its my favorite frsnchise

This game recommends you to go to Rito Village. Wind Waker fans fighting this boss (including me myself): this is where Zelda is peak, a Wind Temple and another "Gera" bossfight. Now we got Molgera, (Molduga counts sorta as one), and Colgera. So glad for Wind Temple to have a colder theme compared to Wind Waker's one being ancient and tall, with weirdly sand as the aesthetic for the boss.
