Do you have any idea what Ganondorf would do with the Tri-force? Do you think the Gods of the Force want that to happen? besides, the king already wished for Hyrule to wash (try saying that 5x fast) and if Ganondorf tried to wish that wish off... Well... REJECTED!!! Sorry Ganondorf. The wind blows cold tonight.

Yavin4 7300 Ganondorf has made his wish on the triforce before. That's essentially the plot of Link to the Past. Gannon's wish created the Dark World, a corruption of the Golden/Sacred realm, but the Sages sealed him there. .. for the most part. He was able to use his power to an extent in the light world as Agahnim, to attempt to break the seal and control the world. Link bested him and used the Triforce himself to wish that all was back to normal etc.

Imagine if you were in Ganondorf's shoes for a moment: You see the world you were born in get flooded by the gods, and you have a more somber view of the world. Hell, the Great Sea is pretty barren for its size, just like Gerudo Valley and the Haunted Wasteland in Ocarina of Time. Ganondorf acknowledges this when he speaks about Zelda's dreams: "Oceans. Oceans. Oceans. Oceans. Oceans as far as the eye can see... They are vast seas. None can swim across... They yield no fish to catch..." You have spent centuries trying to locate the Triforce and formulate a plan to get it. The Sages of Earth and Wind are dealt with to prevent the Master Sword from gaining its full power, the only weapon capable of inflicting damage to you. Spend countless days, months or even years searching for the Triforce of Wisdom by kidnapping young girls to see who would be the lucky one that carries it. Give your reason on why you want the Triforce: bring back Hyrule, let the land prosper and let his people, the Gerudo, live a better life. He strongly believes that the gods flooding Hyrule was an unnecessary and foolish thing to do: "So many pathetic creatures scattered across a handful of islands, drifting like fallen leaves on a forgotten pool. What can they possibly hope to achieve!? Don't you see? All of you... *YOUR GODS DESTROYED YOU!!!* Having all three pieces of the Triforce because you baited the Hero of Winds to arrive at your tower... reach out to make your wish on resurrecting the forgotten land of Hyrule only for King Daphness to touch the Triforce first in an instant. All of that planning and careful manipulation was for nothing... Can you really blame Ganondorf when he snapped because of how ironic the situation was? He wanted to break the cycle but it was gonna repeat itself once again. He wanted Hyrule to come back yet the King wanted it destroyed forever. All he could do was laugh like a madman, and wanted to look for death so he could break free of his curse.

Nyxael's Hub and that is why I find the final battle in Wind Waker to be slightly epic but far more tragic than anything. Once you know the context: which is you fighting a Broken Man, you can do nothing but feel sorry for him especially with his last words, "The wind..it is blowing..." which immediately references what he mentioned in his speech, of how the winds of Gerudo brought nothing but death. It was now his turn to die.

Or he could be laughing because it took so long for him to get to Hyrule only for his chance to be taken right in front of him. I believe he's laughing because of how ridiculous the situation is, as he did so much work for centuries before this moment. When feeling strong emotions (such as anger, in Ganondorf's case), many other emotions can be amplified by the brain at the same time. He might have only found it slightly funny, but because of his anger, he thought the situation was hysterically funny.

IceColorKierson I feel like that's what the majority of people think, but if you think about the situation in more detail. The only thing the wish does is make him battle link before he gets to make a wish of his own. If he defeated them the triforce would come back down for him to wish upon it. I believe he was laughing precisely at the King's wish. Ganon was already sealed with hyrule and it didn't work and now the Kings wishing for this again, he may even feel it's a waste of a wish. But just my theory, glad you viewed and I understand what your coming from with your opinion:)

He basically just lost his entire universe for eternity. Everything he’s fought so hard for us drowning around him. His race is drowning while they are in suspended animation. All the things he valued and his very heart have been ripped away forever. It’s not a laugh as much as it’s a wail if anguish and torment. He’s just so broken he cannot cry so it comes out in a confusing manner. I feel sorry for him. He looked so relieved when link cut his brain in two. He smiles with his last breath. He can finally be at peace with whatever family he had.

The man really went out with a smile of sorts. I strongly believed at that point, he was driven to suicide and wanted Link to put him out of his misery (indirectly) by fighting him. It's fairly obvious that Ganondorf was holding back when fighting Link and Zelda. I mean, Ganondorf walked up to Zelda, put away one of his swords and gave her a mean backhand leaving her unconsious for a moment instead of dowright slicing her in two.

Well, there may be a difference between the Gods flooding Hyrule, and a wish to "forever wash away Hyrule" as we have seen that Hyrule never returns and they make "New Hyrule". But I don't believe his laugh is tied to any of it. I believe his laugh is at the fact that Link and Zelda fought him before to save Hyrule from him during the events of OOT, and now, the new generation of Link and Zelda are fighting him once again, but this time, HE is trying to save Hyrule, while they fight to keep Hyrule destroyed/flooded. The utter irony and role reversal that Ganon has witnessed, having been the only one to see and live through both climactic events, made him laugh that long and hard. It's an interesting Twist. Ganon is still evil, and he wanted to rule over Hyrule as well, but it doesn't change the fact that he was trying to save Hyrule, with Zelda and Link trying to stop him from saving Hyrule. But that's my take on why he laughed so hard. Irony.

Edible Incredible Correct, and the King as stated, would rather Hyrule remain lost forever (and he was counting on Link to defeat Ganon with the Master Sword) along with Ganondorf himself, than save Hyrule and have Ganondorf come back time and again. The King's plan succeeded, as New Hyrule was established, with no sign of Ganon ever returning, since the Sword has him sealed permanently, at the bottom of the ocean at a depth that cannot be reached. In fact, that may have been part of the wish the king made, since it's not only words spoken, but what is in the heart of the person being granted the wish, and its strength based on how strongly their heart desires it, as stated by the Triforce itself in LttP. The King wanted them to prosper in that new land, and they have, with no sign of Ganondorf.

Link, King Daphnes, and Zelda (another name for Tetra) was actually stoppin' Ganondorf from takin' over the kingdom again, and savin' the world above the waves. All so that hope could be restored. The ol' kingdom was drowned again so that everybody else could be free from the past. When Zelda shot her last Arrow of Light, Link defeated Ganondorf with the Master Sword (turnin' him ta stone), all ta save the peoples on the islands of the Great Sea. I don't think the sword was ruined, just the gem on Ganondorf's crown. I think that it was the GEM that was fragmented when the blade pierced it. The giant's forehead was stabbed again, at least 910 years after the endin' for Ocarina of Time split the timeline in two.

Yup, He must've thought "YOU'RE FIGHTING TO DESTROY WHAT YOUR ANCESTORS FOUGHT TO SAVE? this....THIS IS FOOLISH! while I, the great Ganondorf, m trying to revive and save it. LOOK AT HOW I HAVE BECAME A HERO BY THE HANDS OF MY IRONIC FATE, GODS! So, the legendary "courageous" "Hero" and his "wise" princess and their "Holy" gods, SHALL PAY FOR DESTROYING THE EFFORTS FOR SAVING HYRULE TAKEN BY; none other than me; THE NEW, LEGENDARY HERO, GANONDORF DRAGMIRE!" So basically he thought he is the hero and the other ones are the bad guys now, but little did he knew that they were flooding Hyrule to drown HIM with it, to save the kingdom from his Tyrannical rule (seen in OOT), meaning they still are the heroes of the story...

@@Arthion I mean, the same can be said of OoT and TP Ganondorf/Ganon. In OoT, he cared more about conquering Hyrule than killing Hylians, as he let most of them escape (he's a cruel king, but doesn't kill without reason). In TP, he killed Rutela because she could likely replace the Sage of Water, who he killed to try and prevent imprisonment in the Sacred Realm. Other than that, he usually just seals people, instead of killing em.

Personally I think he laughed for a different reason. He laughed because he realized the great irony. It's been centuries since his battle with the Hero of Time. He has seen this play out before at least once (maybe twice) before. At this point I imagine Ganondorf is very tired of the weariness of this battle with fate. Him vs reincarnations of the Hero and Princess, being denied by the gods. I think in the end, he wanted it to end. He wanted to either get his wish or die trying. That line of saying "a future for you? foolishness" is because just as much as history is bound to repeat itself for him, it is bound to repeat for the Spirit of the Hero and the Princess. In his eyes, there is no future for him, or Link or Zelda/Tetra or the King of Hyrule. His last laughs, knowing in the end; he had no chance. He has discovered the massive joke on him by fate.

Ganondorf also never learns of the events of SS, and therefore he never knows of the curse placed by Demise. This makes it even more tragic imo, as he sees the effects of the curse over and over again without ever knowing why these effects exist. He probably doesn't even know that the former Demon King was also thwarted by his own ancestor, Groose (father of the Gerudo), helping the Hero of the Skies.

Deep down, Ganondorf hates being the vessel of Demise’s curse. He feels like a puppet, a pawn in the hands of fate, and by extension the gods he believes decide it, forever trapped in an endless cycle of defeat, his ambitions forever doomed to fail, always foiled by the Spirit of the Hero and the Blood of the Goddess, simply because the heavens will that it must be so for the world to be and for the cycle of the battle of light and dark and good and evil to continue, till the end of time. More than the Power to conquer, he wants the Power to decide his own destiny. And as he thought he had finally succeeded, his enemies on the ground and unable to stop him, it’s ripped away from almost out of nowhere because of an error of carelessness. At this point, all of his bitterness and hate for this world that keeps torturing him bursts out in this laugh, as he basically says « fuck it, it’s over so better at least go out with a bang ».

I have a different theory as to why Ganondorf laughed. His laugh was the laugh of a truly broken man. Ganondorf for the duration of Wind Waker has been working at bringing Hyrule back. He wants to bring it from the ocean and rule over it, and not that goal has been taken from him again. But not just ruling, possibly saving people from the harsh seas. Some people claim that Ganondorf is doing the right thing, while the King of Red Lions, the king of Hyrule, is a truly cunning man himself. And most of the theories surrounding the Hylian Royal Family portray that fact. The king is not a good person. He's trying to hide something. If he really wanted to save the people, why keep Hyrule hidden forever? The king's wish to destroy Hyrule makes Ganondorf snap, whatever was inside of him, the TINIEST shred of morality is gone, much like when he becomes Beast Ganon. Now, with nothing left to lose, he fights Link and Zelda in mortal combat, not to bring the Triforce back, as it's now gone, but as one more act to hopefully prove himself right, albeit, in vain.
@kreiskhaos8516
@kreiskhaos8516 3 жыл бұрын
You also have to remember that all of the incarnations of Ganondorf as a Gerudo show him as a cruel but not merciless person. He will do just about anything to achieve his dreams of the Gerudo being free of their suffering and gaining power, but he has lines he rarely crosses. Murder is actually a rarity of Ganondorf's, and is usually shown to have a good reason (for him)

Also, I doubt this was really mortal combat. He openly smacks Zelda instead of killing her, and he fully expects to die to Link. This is, imo, a broken man taking one final stand against fate knowing what will happen. All because Demise cursed the three of them.

@@kreiskhaos8516 You're forgetting Ganondorf is exceedingly arrogant. He doesn't just THINK he's better. He thoroughly believes it. His goal was to kill them one after the other, or, at least, hold them off until the underwater Hyrule was completely flood, and let them die with him. If it's NOT mortal combat, there's no reason for this fight. No score to settle, nothing. This is a NEW Link and a NEW Zelda, against the original Ganondorf. He doesn't have a score with this incarnation of Link or Zelda, so he's trying to kill those who have stopped him.

I think part of the reason he’s laughing is because he realizes that once again, he was his own worst enemy. Without a doubt, he was bitter from his loss to the Hero of Time. We know this because moments before we discover he’s taken Tetra, we find the statue of the Hero destroyed. Ganondorf definitely holds a grudge, yet because of his defeat he has grown cautious as well, which is why he killed the sages and weakened the master sword, one of the very few weapons that could harm him. The other, the arrows of light, are held in his dungeon by likely his strongest subordinate phantom Ganon, as he can only be killed by the arrows he’s defending. Effectively the bitter lesson Ganondorf learned was not to get cocky, as underestimating both Link and Zelda was what screwed him over in the events of OoT. and yet, at the very final moment when all the pieces had aligned, the new hero was defeated, and the triforce was finally within his grasp, he made the same mistake that cost him victory the first time. He underestimated his opponents, and while he gave his victory speech and decreed his wish to the gods, the King was the one to take the wish. All that work, all the centuries wasted and who did he have to blame? Himself, since regardless of time and regardless of his first loss, he got cocky and that single moment cost him the win. So I think his laughter isn’t just a man who’s lost everything, or a man who’s so frustrated that that’s how he copes. I believe, he’s laughing at himself for putting himself in the exact same scenario he was in centuries before, when he underestimated the boy with the fairy from the woods, and the princess that got away 7 years prior to his defeat. He’s laughing because it’s ironic that history repeated itself, and he’s the very reason why he lost

Ah that explains it. It would make sense how his desperation for the complete Force would drive him over the edge. He didn't want to destroy Link at first but because of the King's wish he sees it necessary because it would mean all the pieces would go to him if Link and Zelda die. This game all of a sudden got a whole lot darker. Imagine being Ganondorf. You are, at the very least, centuries old. Old enough that everything you knew and everything you have done has passed into legend. You have been in a constant state of war since you were in your 20's or 30's. You have been alone for centuries, sealed away twice. You have sacrificed everything you are, everything you have, all for one singular goal: a revolt against the order of the gods, and to bring Hyrule into your own, and to bring prosperity and strength to yourself and your kingdom against the wishes of the gods. You have seen everything you want sealed with you in a sunken grave. You have had victory in your grasp twice before, once in Ocarina of Time, only a single battle between you and victory, then a second time when you revived and waged war to have successfully conquered and reached the cusp of victory only for those defeated to destroy their own homes rather than allow you have them and to create a desolate world. Now, you have been restrained, you have avoided any death that did not directly oppose you and have even left the two who most fight you alive, refusing to kill either despite being easily able to at several points, because that isn't your goal, what you want to revive what was lost and to take the control and the cycle away from the gods. Your goal is to end the destruction this time. Your enemies are the only familiar people left, and so you even smile and enjoy seeing them alive, the nostalgia of it, because there's no one left of your kin, family, or any friends you may have at one point had. Even then some of your own and highest subordinates betrayed you last time, so perhaps enemies are what you can trust and smile at, for you at least know their intentions and efforts. You rant about how all will be corrected, all will be fixed, all will be saved when you have the Triforce. You *_know_* this. You plan it out meticulously, take full account of everything the hero and princess can do, you have everything in order and render both the hero and the princess incapacitated creating the Triforce. Then, when you are closer than ever, so close your fingertips almost literally graze it, the Triforce is stolen from you by the phantom of the very man who was king when Hyrule was flooded, seeing that same face curse you and wish the destruction of all that is left of what you hold dear and your ambitions. So, you reject the power of the Triforce entirely, you break, you snap, you shout about how worthless the gods are, how weak and pathetic these damnable things are, you put them beneath yourself, you convince yourself that you will win, because it is necessary to win. There is no other option but to come out of this victorious and take conquest of the gods themselves by your own hands. You laugh at it all, manically, you laugh. You can't cry, you stopped crying before even beginning the war, mourning was for loss, crying was for surrender and despair, you would not allow yourself that, you would win, you *_had_* to win. The situation is absurd, hysterical, infuriating, beyond all comprehension. It is the worst possible fate, and perhaps the only possibility you hadn't accounted for in all of your meticulous years of planning and efforts.

Ganon seems to be only character that is aware of the rebirth cycle of the holy trinity. Repeated reincarnations of having to endure every memory of every failed plan is enough to drive one insane. I wouldn't feel too bad for him though because the cycle was his doing in the first place because of the curse his original incarnation as the god evil cast on the hero and goddess.

When you think about it... doesn’t that kind of make Ganondorf good? He’s shown to be somewhat kind at this point, wishing NOT to kill Link. He uses the Triforce with good intention, to save his people. The only evil he’s really doing is prolonging the Zelda, Link, Ganon cycle, but that would just continue either way.

Idk about the theory. Because if what your saying is true he would've had knowledge of the alternate timelines. And if he had knowledge of that he' definitely wouldn't not have kept them alive. Knowing youve messed up generations of Ganons. I'm more Inclined to believe that since this is the timeline where the hero is unknown up until this point, he had just been waiting for thousands of years. To wait that long and then get to your dream only to miss out because an old guy beat you to the first touch? That's like you were gonna win the lotto but some guy cut in front of you and bought the ticket. I'd be so mad all I could do is laugh. But ehhh it's opinions
@Edible_Inc
@Edible_Inc 7 жыл бұрын
inmylifetime it's cool! And I feel you. I don't think he'd have knowledge of other timelines though. Its hard to explain my thoughts but the time the great flood happened this Ganon was around this is the same ganon from ocarina. After he comes back the gods flood the land, then the king wishes to flood the lands even more. I feel like all that does is make him battle Link and Zelda instead of easily getting his wish. If he defeated them then in opinion the triforce would come back down for him to easily undue the kings wish. I just thought he was laughing at the Kings wish but just my theory, thanks for commenting and viewing! :)

There was no hero or failed hero. They prayed for the hero of time to come back, because they thought he was a hero who showed up at anytime. Which is why he’s called the hero of time lol. I think, after watching HMK's video on the theory that Ganondorf is good, I think he laughed because he realized everything, the Demise's curse and almost everything in Zelda lore (except the irrelevant things). Think about it, put yourself in Ganondorf's shoes after watching HMKs video. I think after all the efforts to free himself from the curse and restore his people and Hyrule to their former glory, the king who should do this job just wishes for everything to wash away. You know this is useless, it is not enough to break the curse, to stop Demise. Your heart breaks, you laugh hard, maniacally, realizing the irony of the situation (The irony explained by @garvensman in the comment section) and that fact that Link and Zelda are bound to fight Demise's curse again and again in a loop. You say "This is foolishness! A future, for you?" because you have already realized that washing you and Hyrule away is useless. Ganondorf laughed because he realized that his efforts were useless. He let Demise and his curse take control over himself again, realizing its useless to resist anything. HE decided that either he will accomplish his goal or die trying. HE let the power hungry, malicious, wild, evil Ganon inside him unleash itself at last. He was more broken from the inside on that moment than we thought. And when he was defeated, his real self, Ganondorf, returned, saying his last words "Ughnn... heh heh... the wind... it is blowing" and surrender, knowing that Lnik and Zelda's fate ha not change, knowing that... your suffering has ended; and theirs has just begun.

I think what you said at the beginning about the Hero of Time disappearing which is what spilt the timelines makes the most sense. My theory is Adult Hero of Time Link went to back to his own time to basically die in the Lost Woods in Majora's Mask (after of coarse getting Malon pregnant(midevil times)) leaving the future Ganondorf created mostly intact (minus what Link undid). Sometime during Ocarina of Time Adult Link had to have gotten (my guess) Malon pregnant because Wind Waker Link is a direct descendant of Ocarina Link. I know that the creators said that Majora's Mask really happened but I still think it was all just Link dieing...
@Edible_Inc
@Edible_Inc 7 жыл бұрын
ShadowPersonOfTheUnknown Actually wind waker Link isn't related to the hero of time, you may of gotten him confused with twilight princess Link, he's the one who's related to the hero of time. So Link must of had fun with Malon when returning to Hyrule after Majora's Mask

Edible Incredible Hmm, imma have to check my Zelda facts because I remember them saying somewhere that Waker Link is a direct descendant even though in the game itself it basically states that Wind Waker Link is a reincarnation of the Hero of Time.
@Edible_Inc
@Edible_Inc 7 жыл бұрын
ShadowPersonOfTheUnknown yeah, I mean he is the next spirit of the hero but blood related wise he's not. Twilight princess Link is. Ganondorf does call wind waker Link the hero of time reborn since wind waker ganon actually experienced the final battle at the end of ocarina so he sees a resemblance between them just in the sense of the hero. TP ganon never knew about a hero since he never fought the hero of time due to his timeline. But yeah just look it up my friend, it's TP Link who's blood is related, it's why the hero Shade teaches he's own great great grandson sword techniques- hero Shade is hero of time. Just incase you didn't know is all :)

Ganondorf lost against The Hero Of Winds due to the wish. King Daphnes said give these children a future. Plus Ganondorf didn’t transformed into Ganon. He could had. But didn’t. The wish is reality warping. Ganondorf should had killed those two kids but didn’t. The wish was too op.

The game made it as clear as possible. Ganondorf was laughing because all his works was all for nothing. He was so close to getting the triforce it was right there! And when he was talking about the future for link and zelda, he meant he was gonna kill them and he also wasn't making another attempt at getting the triforce by doing so as he said that the triforce wasn't worth anything. Just a few overlooks that made this video completely unnecessary
