1999 Aus vs WI series was in my opinion the greatest test series I have seen, even ahead of 2005 Ashes. We Australians always had a huge regard for Ambrose, Walsh and of course Lara. All three greats of the game who you could never rule out that they could steal victory from you.

Nah. WI were never booed in Australia, even when we were top dogs. In fact, the only places Brian Lara has ever been booed have been in the West Indies: sabina 1999, the second innings of the Bridgetown test that followed and Bourda in guys in 2003 vs the Aussies again. On every occasion he responded with centuries

All the protagonists in this match(with the exception of warne) who turned out to be(in the case of ricky ponting) or already were greats of the game, had an exceptional match.
