Aweosme video series! Thanks for sharing! How long did you guys ride on the stock Pirelli tires? What tires did you put on after?
@WindingWheels2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! We were very happy with the stock tires, they were great on tarmac and good enough off-road for what we do while traveling. We changed the stock tires in Casablanca at the end of our Moroccan trip with 18,000 km on them (with still some miles left on them). We changed them for Mitas E-07 Dakar. Not close as good on tarmac as the Pirelli’s, yet better off-road. They’re great for traveling, they seem to last forever. 21,000 km on them right now and still going strong!

@WindingWheels2 жыл бұрын
Since we’re speaking Dutch it’s quite easy to read Afrikaans, speaking is a whole different league however! Driving on the left is a peace of cake at the other hand. It is illegal to cross a solid white line in South Africa. In S.A. a road lane is normally 3.5 metres wide. In Thailand riders have to ride along a concrete strip about 50 cm wide for about 25 metres, as one of the tests of bike control to qualify for their license. Just saying...

In the three months we spent in South Africa we haven’t felt unsafe a single moment. Frankly, we don’t know about the crime numbers compared to other countries. Every country has their criminals. That’s why we believe you always have to be extra focused when traveling and listen to your gut feeling, this way you can eliminate most of the troubles considering theft.

Hi John, we’re sorry to hear you leave us. Hopefully you’ll still read this comment, so we can explain the title to you. Our plan was to ride from our hometown in The Netherlands to Cape Town. We attempted to travel along the west coast of Africa and started in Morocco. Because of border restrictions, we had to change our plans.
