Windows 11 2023 build takes more than 4 times the Ram usage even with all bloat wares and startup items disabled takes like 4.6 GB at idle

@@FloatSamplesGT710 True, im actually using Windows 11 right nowand its quite slow, considering the laptop i'm using is already running on such basic and (fast-ish) enough Celeron N4100 SoC 😅 what hurts more, they didnt bother to put a second dimm slot on the already constrained 8GB maximum supported memory of thid SoC 😂😂😂

@@AntiGrieferGames depends upon the RAM if you have less amount it will utilise less, of you have more then it will expand the RAM usage.. For instance I have 16GB RAM (8+8) dual channel and it takes around 3.5 GB to 4 approx..

I definitely see, a lot of differences between windows 1511 and windows 22h2 in my very old 15 years dell inspiron 1440 laptop. First of all, It lags like shit in windows 22h2 while its running smoothly like windows 7 with Windows 1511 from my view. I don't care so much about updates, only if it supports. My Personal opinion: Please use Older versions of windows till windows 1709 on your old laptop if you wanna run windows and don't like linux which can obviously revive your old laptop. I'm currently using windows 1511 and after my exams, I planned to install linux distro( Lubuntu)😊

I like the progress bar of Windows 10 2015, it is intuitive and shows detailed data loading speed with a visual chart.

If Windows 10 had the same results of 22H2 version but using the same RAM quantity of 1507 version, it would be perfect. I had to keep the 1803 version in my old PC because was the last which ran smooth and fast with only 4 GB of RAM, later versions were slower.

​@@Jack-5718In services, you can block windows update by selecting Disable and stopping it.

@@Jack-5718before v1711 you can just block it with group policy and regedit, but after 1809 you’d probably need additional addon like stopupdate to prevent the update (but you’re still to bypass the security check from windows defender and require registry&group policy change after the addon installation)

I am using Windows 10 1511 lite, ram used ~900mb, activated net 3.5 vs 4.5 remove defender, you can use Avast antivirus or AVG antivirus to avoid full disk error like Windows defender

Now swap their drives and do the test again. CPU and thermals will vary even on the same model.

This is a good point. High memory usage isn't always bad as long as the memory is not being wasted.

on potato laptop, version 1511 and 1607 are the fastest. windows 8.1 is even better. Both should be lite version with many components removed

Yeah I could’ve but getting my hands on the 1507 ISO was tough enough already, half of the ISOs I found wouldn’t boot properly or they would be missing SATA drivers
