Hi Chris, Your video is the first to show clearly what to do & I would like to thankyou. Are you running Windows Home or Pro? I have the latter preinstalled & do not share your file setup. For example there are no files beneath 'My PC' such as Documents for example, there is only some of these in Quick Access. I downloaded Powershell 7 (x64) as the computer asked me to do this when I attempted your procedure. This helped me finally transfer a file onto a stick!

Thank you. I had to watch this because when I plugged in my USB there was no "USB Drive" appearing on the right side of File Explorer. I just switched back to Windows after many years and it's driving me a bit mad

Yes you can.

you know if u copy the folders to the USB and deleted them from the computer does it delete from the USB aswell?

If you copy then it will make a copy of the file leaving the original on the computer, if you move the file then it will remove it from the computer.

Not sure if this is on topic, but I just bought a new computer, and have about 8,000 songs on my old Windows 7 computer. I have Windows 11 now, and I copied all the files onto an old HDD, and now a new SSD drive because the old HDD drive was giving me too many sector errors. But the SSD drive worked fine, copied all the songs in one folder, but I noticed the file size was off, but the data (each song was there on the SSD drive). Why does this happen?

I think there must be a difference in cluster size between the drives that would give different file sizes.

You can cut and paste the files but I prefer to copy them then make sure they have copied over correctly before deleting from my computer.

In the settings in Chrome and Edge you can change the save location for downloads, go to settings then search Download.

Just the same go to This PC, find your USB Drive and then do exactly the same as described in this video. You can copy files to any folder (Documents, Pictures or Desktop) you can also see this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/epPYlGqvjd-fn6c it refers to Windows 10 but the same principle

`Send to' is ambiguous, and should be `copy to' - fault is with windows 11. I wondered whether I was going to lose my Original!

can be Ntfs if only being used on a pc.
