Regarding the save settings on exit option, I strongly believe this should be set to off for the following reasons: First, when learning and trying different NVDA settings, having it off will prevent unintended settings changes if you exit and don't first set settings back to where they were before you changed them. Not having settings automatically saved on exit gives you a lot ore freedom to try any settings you want and not accidentally have them saved. Also, if you shut down Windows with NVDA running, all settings changes in NVDA will be saved, whether you want them to be saved or not. Save on exit is the default and I think it is a bad one. I once reverted to factory settings for some reason and I didn't realize that save on exit was now in force, It was because, as I said, I had reverted to factory settings. I shut down NVDA and when I ran it again, I had lost all my settings. Factory settings had all been saved on exit..
