Usually there is a button on your laptop with the sign of an antenna with signals coming out. It could be on top of your keyboard or could be a switch on the side.

@itvraag Oh and I'm pretty sure its not that SSID broadcast is disabled because like I said when I check available networks I have two available. Its just when I go to manage networks they are both gone.

@ben10TG you could best try soft resetting your modem/router by disconnecting its power source, waiting 10 minutes then connecting it again, wait again 10 minutes so it's fully started, then test your connection on your computer (soft reset shouldn't change your settings). Also test another wifi device (laptop or smartphone) to see if the issue is related to your computer or your modem/router.

@Basedeath if the list is empty then you're wifi is probably off on your computer. You should at least see a few other wifi connection in the list from your neighbors. It could also mean that your SSID broadcast is disabled. These were pointed in the video.

@ben10TG then it's obvious that the problem is with your Win7 laptop. You could try installing latest driver for your WiFi card on your laptop.

Hey Guys. For those who can't connect like you can't see the "manually connect etc..." You must connect a wire so called "RJ45" not sure if thats really it's term, so connect it to your WiFi then to your CPU. Then your computer will be automatically connected. This is the thing I did. I kept on looking for vids but I didn't see any one solution. Then I tried that what I have said and I can now browse to net. I hope it helps!

@itvraag No i'm connected to the internet through Wifi so its most definitely on. When I click on my wireless connection icon two networks show up one that I am connected to and another that is a mystery and i want to remove it, because I believe it is whats been causing me connection problems with the gateway. I have windows 7 if that makes a difference.

If you don't see any wireless networks then that usually means your wireless in not enabled on your computer. I see too often people forgetting to check that.
