When you MDM is not enabled, what exactly you mean, please elaborate.

@@ConceptsWork MDM was showing as "NONE". It should be "Microsoft Intune". I solved it by going to device and setting MDM enabled in group policy.

What exactly you are referring by saying basic intune, if it is intune mdm which is what the scope of this video, you need intune license.

@@ConceptsWork most of my company users have office 365 bussiness standard licenses, basic mdm its included within the license and im not sure how to enroll devices with this basic mdm.

Hello, I do have expertise in Exchange online and therefore I have the license EMS E5. However, I am not able to enroll my windows device to Intune. It's giving me the error "your device is already being managed by the organization".

Please check the current state of the device in Azure AD, have you complete initial config on endpoint manager portal ?
