Hello Ewin, I am the creator of the bootleg. As always, you did a good job at covering my bootleg. Thank you so much. Honorable mention to LumiSnowie who apparently edited this video. I don't know what was happening to the Media Player stuff on your VM. It runs fine on my VM. Did you install the Service Pack to the framework included in the CD? The lack of it causes issues. I'm actually planning to release Windows Donghorn. It is in the early stages, although I can't say it's 100% confirmed as I have an issue. I can't edit the Vista 5112 deployment wim even with the "official" automated installation kit for it. Covering the wallpapers was a nice touch as well as referencing to Windows RG. I intentionally made the Start Menu as crippled as possible to show only the most critical things during driver installation.

@@theblyatham Glad to hear that. Everything started from a random thought "What if Windows RG was a real operating system?", and then I discovered it was possible so I made it. Sacrificed some of the nostalgia for the Flash parodies, but it was worth it at the end. It also helped me understand Windows better.

Great idea! I was wondering how you had made the boot screen modified straight from the bat. I am also trying to make a bootleg.

@@theblyatham I used Tuneup Styler to make a custom boot screen. That saves as TUKernel.exe and makes a boot.ini entry to use the modified kernel instead of ntoskrnl.exe. I used bootcfg in runonce commands to include it there. It has some flaws as it expects you to use a fixed ID as the Windows section. It doesn't matter on clean harddrives though.
