@UnbreakableBeast you mean Domain Names to I.P. addresses? On a local network, Avahi/Zeroconf/Bonjour will do the trick.

@mathieuemi666 What I wanted to say is that command-line interface could seem difficult at first, when you quickly get used to it, and you will get much more support with Bind. If you've got problems, you can just copy&paste your configuration and people will help you. Plus you'll get better compatibility with say 99% of dns servers ;-)

Fuck Windows server, when you have CentOS and FreeBSD. Microsoft's Hotamil servers run under FreeBSD. LOL

Dude, if you are going to show how to install DNS, SHOW how to install DNS. Everything else is EXTRA!

You're a Windows user right? You took 10 minutes to explain how to configure DNS. Any UNIX user would have nothing to learn to do that. Just know how to copy a basic template, edit it, edit named.conf, and restart the server. You can even do it graphically with ISPConfig, Plesk or something else. BTW, the only true DNS server is Bind. Period.
