I managed to install this build in VMware Workstation, but I had to disable ACPI because Whistler builds 2211-2416 have issues with ACPI. I even got the SVGA and Welcome screen working!!! :D

Fun Fact: That shutdown icon is still in modern versions of windows, but is not used (to the best of my knowledge)

I've always liked the codenames Microsoft uses for different versions of Windows. Most of them from "Whistler" onwards were named after places the employees went on holiday.

Actually, Microsoft codenamed 3 releases of Windows (XP, Vista, 7) after the Whistler-Blackcomb resort (XP = Whistler, Vista = Longhorn (a bar in the resort between the mountains), 7 = Blackcomb). Windows 8 was just codenamed Windows 8, 8.1 was codenamed "Blue" and 10 was codenamed "Threshold".

Whistler build 2202 don't have any references to whistler, even at the start of setup. The screenshot you showed is a modification of this build to allow his installation without problems, if you donwload this build you will not see this screen. To insall it do an upgrade from Windows 2000

It has been determined that 2202 is an extremely early build of Whistler. 1. If you add a printer, and go to a specific printer driver for Alpha and Itanium, it will state that the driver is for "Windows 2001". 2. There are some function differences between 2195 (Windows 2000) and 2202. There are 63 removed functions in ndis.sys, according to Winutiae, that correlate to NDIS 3.0, which was dropped after Windows 2000. There are also two very minor resource differences where typos have been oddly added, in addition to other very minor changes such as function renaming. There is also a strange new component called the Resource Manager, which is some DX-related stuff according to a patent concerning it.

The first Whistler Build is 2202, because it says Windows 2001 in the Printer Settings. The second Build is known as Whistler Windows 2001 Professional. ***** MajorSky17, turns out Build 2211 had a logon screen (Exactly same as Neptune's), to get it to work, you have to Info on how to do it was from thecollectionbook.info Open REGEDIT.EXE and browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Winlogon Set LogonType to 1 -----It might work in 2223 to get the login screen but not too sure-----Go to thecollectionbook.info and look at the screenshots for the build 2223 for proof that there is one in 2223

If you don't pay attention, it was Whistler 2001. Later they dropped out this bitmap and written Codename Whistler until build 2465 when it was replaced with Windows XP Professional/Home Edition as we know it, but the minor difference between 2465 and 2474-present was the XP which was written with red superscript text.

Hot pluggable devices means devices that could be plugged in or out without shutting down the computer (while the computer is "hot"). Remember, USB was just getting mainstream back in 1999.
