I think that originally the purpose of the song was not to win, just to show the middle finger to the juries. Winning wasn't the most important thing, just that this song went down in history as the most epic bet in Eurovision history. Thanks windows95man for a great show.

I don't quite agree, but I tend to demand a lot from singers. His voice is a bit thin and as the pitch goes higher you start hearing hiss because he's struggling. The highest note is a bit short of what it should be. I would say he's good enough for most pop but I think he would have sounded better if the pitch was even a half step down. This could also be somewhat addressed thru mixing because it has been a bit off in Eurovision quite often. It feels as singing was competing for frequency spectrum with other "instruments".

Because it has many layers. You can watch it several times and each time find something new. The outer layer is shocking, and makes you repulsed (What! A middle-aged naked man). Then you perhaps begin to listen to the lyrics, and you'll notice, that it has an empowering message about self acceptance, and you'll notice, that the seemingly outrageous staging actually supports that message, then it will make sense. Then you notice, that the beat is actually quite catchy, and makes you addicted. And in the end you'll notice, that this are actually quite endearing chaps, doing what they love without holding back.

ESC is much more than just songs. For example countries that are facing difficulties are usually voted more than the others and they usually win and so the contest goes next year to the winning country of this year in order to boost the local economy. All in all, the ESC is about reaching for those in need and helping each other out as a community which is put into the form of a mildly commercial song contest.

Finlands used to it, being ignored by judges. At least people got fun and a laugh out of it. Also a great new party classic has born. I love this song and at first I thought this was gonna win for sure, but then I saw other countries entries and almost everybody had a very good or at least a good entry and wasn't so sure if win95 was gonna win anymore. And then Netherlands came and had that explosive perfomance and energy and I hated to admit it but Netherlands was gonna win for sure. It was that good. The song itself in my opinion is not as good as no rules but it's really good also and the chorus makes it, and they make up the lack of melody with the song with everything else. This was a hard year to succeed because there were so many good songs.

У него были телесного цвета трусы) Всё было сделано на зрителя, он очень эффектно бегал, чтобы не было видно этих трусов))) А вообще после того, что на сцене проделывал Оззи Осборн это практически ничего))) Я абсолютно на 100% уверена, что у финнов самый интерксный и демократический посыл был... Да и песня просто классная для Евровидения, очень запоминающийся)))
