So I realised some method to the madness we have been viewing: In season 1 Halil came to take revenge (and here I am referring specifically to Zeynep) based on information that was false. So he tortured her and we hated it. He found out much later that she was innocent and regretted it and we know the rest... Here in season 2 Zeynep is taking revenge based on information which is inaccurate from a letter. So she is torturing Halil... Therefore I can conclude that very soon she will learn the truth just like Halil did, and realise she was misled, which will soften the blow and keep her from flying at Halil because even though he came for revenge, it did not involve her father dying (which was implied by the letter) and so she may be more willing to forgive Halil, since she believed blindly like he did about her. So until she learns the truth, her character has to behave "over the top" and so on... so that she can become herself when the truth comes out... I am of the opinion that the whole truth of revenge needs to be told by Halil to Zeynep... it is way OVERDUE...140 episodes and still the real revenge story is hidden????

Dear writers, what have you done to Halil? He is full of big words but doesn’t act upon them. I wouldn’t touch you even if you were the last woman in the world, proceeds to touching her all the time (the concept of personal space was always unknown to him), he takes the ring away then intends to give it to her at the end of the last episode, he swears he will do everything not to make her cry, proceeds to make her cry, says some random things about revenge and war, antagonizes her, threatens her, blackmails her, then he is surprised that she’s even more angry with him and doesn’t trust him 😂 then he forgets about the war and is willing to accept death from her hands, where did that come from? Does he have a split personality disorder? That would explain a lot of things 😂

I still remember Zeynep from the first season shouting “Neden, neden?!?!?” at Halil when he was trying to send them away from the farm. And Halil was so intent on telling her the truth, what happened to this? He was afraid for her, didn’t want to spoil her happiness. I want a restart of the new season... let me explain In season 1 we were very aware of Halil as a mean character bent on revenge and he treated Zeynep terribly. He let his love for revenge overshadow his love (which he refused to admit to as well) for Zeynep in the early episodes. Then we saw a Halil who would come back from death for Zeynep's voice and a remorseful man who regretted his early torturous actions. Here in season 2... a zombie has replaced the character of Halil, because forcing Zeynep to forgive and forget is not something Halil would do... In season 1 Zeynep was strong, a warrior princess who loved purely and sacrificed for her family. In season 2, this character of Zeynep is not one we recognise. Yes being betrayed leads to a meltdown, but the Zeynep we know would WANT OUT OF THAT MARRIAGE... And this is where things went wrong for this new season... They should have had Halil admit the whole revenge to her (because its reveal is OVERDUE) and have Zeynep say she is leaving his ass and do so with her family (just like how they had to leave in season 1) Then this would put Halil in "get back Zeynep mode" since he cannot live without her and then Merve should get into trouble (like now) Halil then uses Merve;s situation (after 2 episodes of separation only) to get Zeynep to return to the mansion coming as WIFE... (ahem...new "deal" agreed upon just like season 1) And we can see real dinners/dances/intimate moments between them as Halil desperately tries to make up for his torture and revenge from the early episodes of season 1 Then we could see just a NUGGET of truth about Songul being revealed (it cant be anything too serious because she is the only villain really), like Halil discovering her video of Canan and Asu confessing that Zeynep is innocent and Halil realising that Songul knew early in their coming to that house that Zeynep was innocent. And we have Songul put in the outhouse, Tulay & Merve coming back to the mansion and new misunderstandings... but this would have made more sense in line with our main characters and would still mirror season 1 (which seems to be the objective of these new writers)... This new season feels like a completely different show that is unlikable... They need to restart/reshoot from the end of episode 131 till now...

They did mess up a little bit in season 1, they made Zeynep look naive and gullible at the end of episode 125! It was unnecessary and did not fit her strong character, but I guess it had to be done to get rid of Alper! So, they had 4 good episodes (126 - 129) that were unnecessary! In my opinion this season has been just as good and a great continuation.

The characters in this season are so different from what they were in the previous one that I treat season 2 as a completely different show, a sort of spin-off and not a particularly successful one.
