The pavilion that you were in at the start leads in to Savill Garden which is a separate garden, the Great park surrounds Windsor castle and has various things in it - including the monument - which is known as the Obelisk, there was a Totem pole (from Canada) for many years near the lakes at Virginia Water, the lights are great as well

in answer to your question - entrance to Windsor Great park (which is huge) and Virginia Water (where the lakes are) is free entry, the only part you pay for outside Xmas is Savill Garden - I grew up riding my bike round the Great Park and Lakes most weekends, there's a huge lake and polo fields as well, glad you enjoyed (bring the little one next year! - especially if you are having trouble with them sleeping!!)

I’m so happy that you visited this event as we have been going for the past few years and this year is definitely the best one they have done !! It’s definitely one of the best light trails in the UK and they allow dogs which some of them don’t and it’s not too expensive compared to others ! So the trail is apart of The Savill Gardens which is massive, we did the whole walk round and it took us about 3hrs lol a must visit in the summer

Hortons who rides are here at Windsor are new owners of Carters lightning skid as well as a few other ex carters bits so it’s with keeping and eye on to see what other events they will attend and hopefully it will be out a few time next year.

Have you ever been to the Yorkshire Wildlife park in Doncaster? In the summer you could visit the park and stay at the hex hotel or do the light trial in winter.
